Paradise

I finally sat down and took the time to create an actual park, complete with all the trimmings. It's set on a beach with a few small outlying islands, and has a grip (a lot) of rides. I was going to originally create a nice screenshot show and a video but after the game trying my patience too far and my hand being damaged, along with my keyboard, I decided "ahhh screw it, I'll just post a couple of screens and call it a day."

The central island, with a beastly coaster over 2 miles long (around 13,500 ft I believe)

Unfortunatly I can't get a video to prove it, but a decent bit of time was put into every coaster though unless I take each one out of the park and run it on it's own there's no way to see them run smoothly.

Anyways, here's the park. No guests, only a few staff to fix the breaking food stands and... yeah. Good luck, and have patience. Enjoy.:)

Edit: Also, in the event you don't get bad performance, please post so, and even if you do, report how bad (under 1FPS, or ~5 or anything like that)

Radeon 9800 PRO 256 mb running newest drivers
1024 mb DDR ram
2 gig free on page file

Topping at roughly 40 fps with most rides running, with every little nifty feature my pc can handle. Never even got below 8, and that was veiwing the entire park with all rides running...

You are definately a TYCOON! If I saw a park like that in real life...I would build a house next to it and visit and ride all the rides every day!

:eek: I don't think I ever even saw 8, ever. I wonder why there is such a huge difference, only thing I really see in difference between my setup is the 9800 128MB vs, your 256MB, I only have 1/2 GB where you have 1GB of ram, and your on a 64-bit, I'm on 2X32.

Amazing how big the difference is.

Edit: Though if I ran out of ram and I was using the hard-disk cache it would explain a lot of the performance difference, but when I check RCT3 is usually only around 400MB.

Something interesting i observed was that turning the Anti-Aliasing UP improved performance, while turning textures to ½ full kicked it up to 40 fps when veiwing most of the park... Maybe textures is the big problem? One can only wonder...

damn, i tried to play it, that's the key word "tried", my fps never went up from 6 per sec :rolleyes: sometimes it droped to 0 :(

Yeah, it's really a drag. I had such high hopes of making some super-awesome park on the beach, but then scrapped that idea dn sort of 1/2 finished the park and claled it a day. What really sad is there arn't even any peeps in it.:(

Well i guess i'm not gonna be able to make awesome big parks, lol
