I can't remember who started the thread but it was to vote for your favorite park for 2004. I can't seem to see it anywhere or my eyes are bad :D

It should be deleted, actually. This is an exchange after all, not anothter polling ground; besides, everyone's accomplisments are great in different ways - at least the people who are actually 'producing' stuff to the public, instead of the billion others who are showing text lists of their 'plans'. In addition, many of these bogus threads are getting constant activity like 'I'm going to build this and I'm going to build that - when I get the program" - pushing the actual threads that DO have rides or parks that are done/near done....to the bottom.

There aren't all that many "I am planning this," threads.

There are enough of them, and yours is one that doesn't even have a single screenshot from the game!
This is what you offered us.

I have already talked to the admins about my park and have gotten permision to retain the thread. I have already spent a month planing the park. I have put a lot of effort into perfecting the different parts of it that I was not sure were even possible. Now, with less than 3 weeks until the first screenshots are posted, when I have finally been able to show people how much I have worked on this park, all you can say is "THis is all it offers," and post one of the 5 images that are on the site, not bothering to mention the fact that I have 3 huge posts, each of which took up aprrox. 3 pages in word, 12 pt Times New Roman font. I think that it is a problem when people make a "I am going to build this," thread, but leave it to rot. I have seen this happen to many people, but not me. I have put effort into this project, to make sure everything works. Is that really so bad?

Here is what is says in 'Da Rules'
Please note that this is a forum for exchanging and showing off your user created content from the game.
This is not a forum for the following:
Website Advertisments.
Please don't post requests here. Place them in the General RCT3 Discussion area here: http://www.ataricommunity.com/forum...php?forumid=342.
If you are repling to bump your topic, spam, or post like a jerk. We'll simply delete the thread/post.
If you uploaded the file to a page on your website, and post it here, you are in the clear. After all this is an exchange forum.
Again, this forum is only for exchanging your finished content from RCT3.
So you talked to the Mods, and they say its OK, then they should CHANGE THERE RULES.

They did change the rules. In fact, I still have the message. Let me go nab it. ((Sorry, Admins, hate to drag you into this))

Dear Bctrainers1,
I understand your concers over the thread. Advertising for sites on here can be very bothersome, as do requests. I do get annoyed at reading thread after thread about "can someone make me this..." This defeats the whole purpose of the game. I agree with you there. However, where I do not agree with you is the idea to get rid of park announcements. There aren't that many on the thread. I only counted 4 on the first page, which is small compared to the number of other threads on here. I think it is just as important for people to share with others in words as well as with images what is going on in the park. For example, I have my own park anouncement thread, where every Monday I give a major update. I put a lot of planning into these updates. If you look at it, you will see. It takes up 3 pages in Microsoft Word and tool me a week to finalize and work out the details. Another great Park Anouncement thread is the Astro World. He does have screenshots, a feature mine will have withing a month, that are truly amazing. I think that parks ARE user created material, and should be given a fair chance, an equal share of the attention of the game. Also, having threads like these show others what they could do if they really wanted to. It also increases the desire for the game among people who don't have it. Please think about these and keep them in mind as you look through the forums the next time.
Thank you for your time,
Sevey13

As for the planning, I have filled two composition notebooks (front and back) with plans for various parks and rides. So, now, I can bring them all together and start producing them in themed parks. Would you like me to scan in all the pages? And, also, why would I bother to lie about something this stupid?

I also have a thread about my park that I will make as soon as I get RCT 3. I started 11-12-04 and I haven't dropped it yet, and I won't dropo it. It has updates almost daily, and it has a coaster contest. Also, every Tuesday there is a major update called Tuesday Track Layouts. And I do have screenshots, except they are from RCT 2 because I don't have RCT 3 yet and the screenshots that are there are screenshots of coasters that I have made in RCT 2 and will import to RCT 3.

The preview threads build up on the anticipation for the creation. (most of the time) This is why i don't delete them.
I thought that I edited the rules, but it seems when I went to hide the text with some HTML code it didn't follow through.

Hmm.....maybe another rules revision should be on the to do list. LOL
OK, the parks that keep hitting the top of the threads are ones consisting of mainly text-based "planning" (i.e, we have just added a new section called "dufus land" and it will consit of 3 spooky rides for geeks"). Or "My park will be released on Christmas Eve, once I get the game, in the meantime, every Wednesday I'll let you guys in on a big secret: what colors I will use on each coaster!
These are only humerous examples (no offense)- I'm sure many of you are dead serious on completing a park, and I'm looking forward to all of them. But in the meantime, I'm finding outstanding work that I'm sure took a good number of hours to do by the designer, buried like two pages back - not to mention, one of the most popular theads that took a top spot is based on a park that was canceled. This is all so backwards.

If it makes everyone happy, please take a look at my latest post in my Park Update (make sure it is mine, and not someone elses). Hope that makes everyone happy. Due to certain forms of extortion, I am moving the construction schedule up and begining work on the State Fair section. Enjoy!
