Well, I have taken it upon myself to try and construct Paramount Canada's Wonderland since it is the closest park to me. Does anyone know of any rides for this park that have been done in the past?

I know Dragonfire appeared on the RCTTown website ( www.rcttown.com ). There might be others there, too. You can also try The Bat - it's a powered launch one.

Where are you getting your maps or other info from?

I am atttempting to create PCW as well, and would love the info.

All I can find are the park maps which are not great for scale etc.

I too want to re-create this park(also closest). Keep updated, would love to see your progress.
The mountain with ThunderRun will be difficult. The rest shouldnt be too bad.
These sites have some info on Canada's Wonderland. Not completely to scale, but these give the general idea.

I'm also trying to recreate Canada's Wonderland. I haven't been there in years, but I grew up going there, practically every year from the 1981 opening to about 1998. I was a regular season pass holder as a teen. (Among other things, this means I'm used to the old-style names like Dragon Fyre and Wilde Beast ;))

How are you guys making out? So far I have six coasters... five which I modelled myself, and the other (Top Gun) I converted from an RCT2 version I found on the net; I had to make the lift hill longer to make it work though.

For modelling info, I used:

Photographs from PCW Junkies - http://www.pcwjunkies.com/pcw/pcwcoasters.htm
Descriptions and stats from PCW Online - http://www.aloofhosting.com/wonderlandguide/coasters.html
My own memory

The five coasters I've currently modelled are:

The Bat - Essentially perfect. I use a minimum speed reverse launch, just enough get it to the chain pull.
Dragon Fire - Essentially perfect, including the original 3 train schedule with pre-helix brake run.
SkyRider - Very close I think, but not sure.
Minebuster - Pretty good, but I'm not sure if it's long enough? Hard to get good pics now that it's covered by all the Splashworks slides. Also need to put in a brake run. (Just has a huge station right now)
Wild Beast - This one uses a bunch of weird angles so it's impossible to get perfect, but I got pretty close I think. Also needs a brake run.

I figure I'll do GhosterCoaster next, and maybe the new Tomb Raider one (I haven't ridden that one, but I have pictures and a video of it)

Vortex and Thunder Run will have to wait until I've got a basic park with mountain set up, I've just been building individual rides in coaster builder so far.

Thunder Run's going to be tricky since you can't actually tunnel inside a mountain, but I hope it can be faked with carefully designed terrain and roof tiles.

As for scale... well I started out by trying to build the coasters to scale, looking up the height of the lift hill, etc. But this wasn't working very well, the coasters were too slow. So instead, I looked up the maximum speed, and made my coasters attain that, and that seems to be working much better, the rides feel a lot more like I remember them.

It's too bad you can't make trains with different colours though.

I'll post my rides (and pics) later tonight.

I am glad to see someone else taking on this park. I live in Belleville and get to the park as much as I can, but I haven't been there in a few years. Lol, it's not as easy as it looks, my torture is the front gate and the canada flag shaped flower bed. I am not sure what to do with this as there are no red or white colored flowers in the game. I will post pics soon, just as soon as I get through the next week of pharmacology exams. Can't wait to see those pics.

Here are pics as promised... (going to hold off on posting the actual rides for now)

Backside of Wonder Mountain, with Thunder Run and Vortex. I did this tonight. Yes, I know the area around Thunder Run is ugly.. hopefully that can be improved with scenery somewhat.

http://bf1942.gametrack.org/images/temp/RCT3/wonderland/dragonfire.jpg
The Dragon Fire.

http://bf1942.gametrack.org/images/temp/RCT3/wonderland/thebat.jpg
The Bat.

http://bf1942.gametrack.org/images/temp/RCT3/wonderland/skyrider.jpg
The SkyRider.

http://bf1942.gametrack.org/images/temp/RCT3/wonderland/minebuster.jpg
The Mighty Canadian Minebuster. Needs a brake run, and a tunnel for the helix.

http://bf1942.gametrack.org/images/temp/RCT3/wonderland/wildbeast.jpg
The Wild Beast. This one was really tough cuz of some weird angles (and impossible to get perfect) but I think got it pretty close.

http://bf1942.gametrack.org/images/temp/RCT3/wonderland/topgun.jpg
Top Gun. Credit for this goes to 'Shockwave', this is an RCT2 conversion from http://www.rcttown.com/downloads2bpg5.htm - all I did was make the lift hill a bit higher to make it work.

Thought I'd post an update, esp. since their won't be any for a while... out of town for the holidays.

Here's a shot of my current park:

Here's a recent map for comparison:
http://www.pcwjunkies.com/images/pcw/vault/guides/pcw00map.jpg

Here's a shot of Medieval Faire, Paramount Theatre (it has a 3D Cinema hidden inside), Arthur's Bay and the (Viking's) Rage, Wild Beast and The Bat in the background:
http://bf1942.gametrack.org/images/temp/RCT3/wonderland/medieval-faire.jpg

The Dragon Fire, shot from inside the Krachenwagen bumper cars, across Arthur's Bay:
http://bf1942.gametrack.org/images/temp/RCT3/wonderland/dragonfire2.jpg

Looking across International Street to the SkyFlyer and Top Gun. I recently rebuilt Top Gun specifically for RCT3... previously I had been using an RCT2 model.
http://bf1942.gametrack.org/images/temp/RCT3/wonderland/topgun2.jpg

Despite the lack of tunneling, I managed to get a workable ThunderRun that genuinely looks and feels like it travels inside the mountain.

http://bf1942.gametrack.org/images/temp/RCT3/wonderland/thunderrun2.jpg

And finally, the Vortex. Can't wait to get that lake in at the bottom to go whizzing by. :D

Thanks. :)

For Splashworks, I can do Lazy River with the Rafts ride, I can use the Dingy ride for some slides, also there's a couple kid's slides I could throw in, maybe even a simple log flume too. For the Wave Pool I'll just build a lake and put a couple water rides in it (so at least there will be people in the water)

My first priority is trying to make rides that feel like the original (I think I've succeeded on all the coasters so far). If I can't manage that, I'll try and make something that at least resembles the ride. For example, there was nothing that really worked for Klockwerks, so I just made a yellow-orange Twister instead.

For tips... I would offer two practical pieces of advice to help make a workable park.

First, you want tons of path space, especially around attractions. Peeps really need room to spread out when waiting around (which they do whenever a group member goes on a ride). Narrow paths totally mess this up; they will criss-cross the entire park looking for a clear spot to stand in.

Second, go for overkill with food, drinks, and toilets. Put them all over the place, offer lots of choice with toppings, and make sure the vendors have low laziness. Peeps will still have trouble satisfying their needs, but the above should help reduce that somewhat.

To find out how I arrived at these conclusions, please see these threads in the tech support forum: The Saga of Zeta Group (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=428860), and Zeta Goes to BigPark (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=430154). Hope that helps.

You bet it will! :) It was my first coaster too. I think Ghoster Coaster is the last of the 'old' coasters I still have to create. It's been there since 1981 along with Wild Beast, Minebuster, and Dragon Fire. I haven't bothered making it yet because it will be a while before I'm at that area of the park.
