In Adult Gohan's DU go to the island just past the KAME HOUSE.

You have to do this when you first get into his DU.

actually you have to talk to videl twice not just at the islands but before that you have to talk to her in the forests to the east of gohan's house A.K.A. Goku's house. but anyway you can't fight goten before that you have to talk to her first if you fight goten it will all be ruined.

so thats what i have been doing wrong ... i've been fighting goten 1st then searching for videl as per instructions from a website that is not good enough to be mentioned
