Greetings all! I would like to share my first attempts at making on-ride videos. They may not be as good as some of the others I've seen here, but one thing that struck me about many of the videos posted here was they don't have any sound. Many have a musical track but no actual sound. With these 2 videos, I wanted to produce something that also had the sound effects. This was actually a far more complicated task than it sounds, but I did manage to enhance the aural experience to some small degree.

Also note that while both of these rides resemble actual rides they are not intended to be re-creations in any way.

Now for a question: Is there any way at all to remove the interface from the screen when not in the coaster-cam mode? If not, can anyone suggest a good (cheap) product that can crop the video image and re-size without too much hassle?

You can download both videos from the links below.
Feedback is welcomed and appreciated!

I only watched the first one, but good sound effects at beginning. I liked the added track sounds and the use of the animatronics too.

:)

I can't take credit for the soundtrack in "spaced out mountain" of course... many of you will immediately recognize the sound effects.

"Chamber of Horrors" on the other hand is a different story. For this one, I actually contstructed the effects soundtrack manually, starting with sounds from various sound effects collections and then augmenting them with various processing tricks. The sounds I started with were actually mono, but I reprocessed them into stereo to give added effect and spatial realism.

Half of the fun of this was searching for the right sound effects!

Has anyone else made any on-ride videos with sound effects? Id' be most interested to see what you did!

I'd really like to create an on-ride video in 5.1 surround, which aparantly my audio software can do. Now THAT will be cool if I can actually make it work!

I liked both videos.

Spaced out Mountain has a great soundtrack and the lift out was well thought out. I liked the spaceship lifting off while we did. The lighting change after liftoff was superb.

Chamber of Horrors was fast and smooth  with great scenery effects. I appreciated the lighting in this video as well.

Both rides are just right IMHO length wise to boot.

Bravo.... golf claps for both vids.

Now I expect more great videos from you. You’re as bad as some of these other video crack dealers around here.
Looking forwards to my next fix.:p

  :D :p
