Hi all
I got the computer back yesterday and started on returning it to functionality. (You know how the techs like to reformat your hard drive despite the problem being somewhere else.)
So i have most critical services reestablished. I have 2 more parks to judge and collate the other ratings from our other judges (There results have been coming in...) I should be able to make an announcement no later than Friday!!! (Just a couple weeks late, sorry...)
David
(Thanks everyone for your patience.)

Hi all. Last updte I hope. I have all the judges returns except for 1 park. We are almost there. The winner shall be announced soon...
It does look that there are ways to enhance your score as DCWill covered in the 2nd Small Park Competition. I shall write more about that when posting the winner.

Hi all,
We have all the data in.
Everyone did well and we have some good results.
An Honorable mention goes to I Feel Sick for winning the FPS contest with an aggregate 18.45 FPS. This is an average between our various rigs. (DCWill has a better rig then mine, I can tell from the numbers)
Our Criteria:
Lowest Cost
Most Peeps on 10/'31
Highest Park Rating 10/31
Highest Profit
Highest Park Value
Highest Company Value
Highest Total of Excitement
Highest Average of Excitement
and a Subjective rating.
Scoring was 5 points for each of the 1st 8 categories for First Place, 4 for second, 3 for third and 2 for fourth...
Then half of the score can be made from a subjective rating which is a number between 1 to 10, times 4 averaged between the 3 judges. (For instance a 4, 5 and 6 would be 16, 20, and 24 which averages to 20 points)
Our Winner : Koaster Kid with Jungle Madness
2nd Place: WickedFan with Lush Canopy
3rd Place: Hulk Local News with Town Square
4th Place: I Feel Sick with Pirates Cove
We have various comments from the judges and I shall share that in later posts. For now congratulations to all!!! ;)

One of the big testing things I did during this cntest (madmab would be proud) is that at the end of the year I took a list and wrote down each ot the top 10 things your peeps were thiniking and doing...
No matter how many food stalls you have, at some level they are hungry. But the more stalls you have, the better it is.
Having toilets is also good. So as I and Wicked discovered make sure you have one in your park.
The key to this process is after you have finished the park, save it and run it for a year at Fast. Then check to see what is going on with the peeps. You can then go back to the saved copy and make adjustments. I made a second edition of my Lagos park with toilets and things went much better.
This little strategy can help with discovering if you have enough mechanics, or janitors, or food and drink stalls. You can see if you are running the park at a profit. You can see if you have everything open. Or that your firework shows are set for each month.

Congrats KoasterKid!
As I've said, you all had some really nice parks. This made the subjective rating a little difficult on my part. It was for this reason I started basing my subjective rating on the little things that make the parks stand out. (ie. peeps happiness, needs taken care of, themeing, etc.)
I hope you're all still up for the next, and future small park competitions!
Thanks again!!!

Hey Congrats KoasterKid, wickedfan & HulkLocalNews !! Duh... I would have uber high fps on my park, coz there's nothing in it... it was worse than a county fair even... maybe I'll try better next time... Not sure exactly if I'd be taking part coz I'm really preoccupied with univeristy admission procedures... Really hectic...

One of the great thins about I Feel Sick's park was that is was well laid out and had great path ways. I really liked that...

Awesome! Thanks guys. I just got home from baseball or else I would have replied earlier. I will post a download link in here and in the exchange in a little bit. Thanks again!
-I think the key to the parks is to cram in as many bathrooms as possible. I had somewhere around 8 bathrooms in the little park.-

Actually the key to me seems to be able to balance a good selection of rides, with the other amenities. You do need the toilets, but you may not need 8 of them. You certainly need at least one of them.
Having many rides and attractions help. The more rides seem to add more Peeps, and more Peeps means more revenue. Somehow this increases Park and Company value.

While I was judging, I try to look for the really BIG details that stand out when I open the park, then I go in ride all the rides look around and try and find small details which really bring the park to life. Overall I started giving subjective ratings #.5 because they we're all getting so close!
To a note to all contestants I would like to suggest that I think a very well laid out park and lots of things that stand out(I personally love buildings) then the small things! A well kept and run park is the key to winning...
I would also like to announce that I am working on a idea for the contest and hopes it pulls though. I have not even told the judges this one because it is still soo alpha. If DDWIlkin would like to announce another thing that I am working on (like you'd really care though) he can.
Cheers Tikitiki
