10 person Pass it around Park. (Thanks to Digiclub for telling me about the error)

There were a lot of these for RCT 2, but I am wondering if anyone wants to do one in RCT 3?

Basically, what I want to do is make a park, where everyone picks a theming, and when a person is done creating their section of the park (with their theming), the person "passes" it to the next person, until everyone is done...

For this, though, I want to use the Sandbox mode. I also want to create a transport ride that will go through all the areas. If you want to create a fireworks display for your area, feel free to do so, but make sure that you set it to be played for only 1 month. Also, make sure that the month it is being played is not on the same month as another person's fireworks display.


I hope I explained it good.... so... any takers?

1. That depends on how many people are joining.

2. Yeah I agree. When you finish with your zone, continue the transport through the zone, ending at the end of your zone.

By the way, I am leaving the park flat... you all can do your own terrain editing when you recieve the park....

Does everybody get an equal section?
Suggestion: Create a custom scenario, max out the buildable area, select all the land as bought, use unlimited money and don't put objectives or use really lame ones that we don't have to worry about. Gives you more room to speread out that way.

Well, if you go to scenario editor, then you can increase the map size to 254x254, which is the largest. Sandbox is much smaller (Forget the dimensions). If you like, I can send you a blank park file that is already 254x254. Then you can put it in your park file and open it in sandbox.

Well for scenery, I don't really want to remove scenry from ppl's parks... so for this, I have this idea:

The order in which you recieve the park is in the order of your computer speed. The people who get the lowest FPS go first, and the highest FPS ppl go last...

Also, your theming has been changed...

Okay, In order to give us a good enough amount of space, I'm only going to take 1 more person. After this person joins, we will start. That way 10 people are doing it, and that's it...

I decided that I'm going to go ahead with the Jurrasic Park theme... It sounds like fun. As for FPS... I run on a Sony Vaio Laptop, with 64MB of shared video ram. It runs RCT3 fine, just so long as the parks get too big. So, please don't put me too close to the end of the list, however, I don't want to be the first... (I'm so picky ;) ). Just curious, but the whole thing about it freezing when the parks got too big was a bug right? I was wondering if that was fixed with Patch 2...

I think you'll find that the term is not 'park in a park' but Pass It Around Park. i.e. PIAP

On my Busch Gardens recreation (which is very large as you can imagine), with game paused I get FPS in the single digits. Dunno if that helps with the computer specs or anything and I dunno where that puts me in the order of who gets it when. I don't need to have the park run at a gazillion FPS though, so if others want to ge obefore me, thats cool...just as long as by the time I get it, my computer doesn't keel over within minutes:p

As for themeing, I'll think of something...can it be a surprise?:D

ok i have recieved the file... we have 10 people in (including me), and each person is getting the same size for their section... so umm.. i'm not sure how much we'd all get... all i know is we all get 1/10th the size of a 256x256 sized park... so.. hmm...

do a grid 4 x 3

the two center squares are off limit.

Mulitply by the sice you want say if you want a 15 by 15 section it becomes a 60 by 45 park...

So basically the center areas are off-limits... so as in your example, a 15x15 section would be off limits.... And for that off-limits area... i'm thinking of making it into a mountain or a lake... what do u prefer?

One could of course decide to make the entry at the corner, make 2 areas terrain with only connecting paths to the other areas. Make it more of a U , eliminate the entry area and move the entry further into the park. Make it more of an O with the entry just at the very edge of the rectangle. Make the rectangle 4 across and 3 down...

Well, I went out and bought the Jurrsic Park movie and just finished watching it (I just love that movie...). Anyways, point being, I now have a good reference to work from when creating my section of the park. My only question Dark_Rider2k3, is do you know approximately how much land we will be given? The reason I ask, is because I want to start working on some structures, and I just need to know what kind of scale I should be looking at. I know that I'll be creating the supply shed... "Attack of the Raptors," ofcourse... however, I'm not sure about creating the Main Center. Not to mention the "Jurrasic Park" ride itself. So, if you could just let me know, I would be very greatful.

It sounds like you have a great project started. I work in the sandbox mode all the time and some of you may know my work.
The recreation of SFOG is a full standard sandbox creation of mine. It lags on my machine which is an Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1.90GHz with
512MB RAM running on a RADEON 9800 AGP 128MB.

I want to point out that your project will have to be large, seeing that 10 people are working on it. One thing I learned is that lag is always worse when facing the center of the park. It is best to keep large ride that you really want to ride at the outer edges of the map.

You might want to consider how many large and small rides each of you will do. With 10 of you, you might want to limit yourselves to one major and two minor ride each, as a maximum limit along with your dimension limits.

I am only trying to help out. I build all my parks to the max.
Remember that if you keep the peep out of the park till you are finished and keep your graphics turned down, then you should be in pretty good shape lag wise with a maximum park. Also work with the game paused as much as possible to keep the parks age down. My last park was something like 27 years old when I finished it and I kept it paused as much as possible. Testing rides just eats away at the years, but you have to do it.

I mean taking out scenery that is buildable but notused in the park.

For park size, my area does not need to be huge, but making a fantasyland, gentle-junior ride land that is expected. For the entire park though, what if areas were 50 x 50, then we have a park frontage that is 100 x 250, or 150 x 200. That still seems very large.

at 40 x 40 we get
80 x 200
120 x 160 (which seems a lot more user friendly...

When you get this, just select an area of the park you wish to work on. I have split them up into zones.

Please note, though, that you may change the terrain of the zone in anyway you like, as long as it don't interfere with another person's zone. Also, you can edit the land in your zone in anway you want...

Ok, so it looks like I'm up! I'll begin construction tomorrow... (My theme may have changed to an inferno type theme depending on how construction goes). I hope that's alright... I'll try to provide a midweek screenshot.

Well, I'm all finished! Sorry about taking an extra day... I've a had a busy week with school and all (Of course I'm sure most of us have...). Anyways, here it is. I call it: The Wastelands. I know I said I would most likely do a jurrasic park theme, however, I found that to be much too difficult to accomplish with the limited supplies. I liked the inferno idea, so I based my section around the volcano. I created the remainder of the park, especially its name, in honor of a book I'm currently reading: The Dark Tower vol III: The Wastelands. I hope you enjoy the park. I especially love the screenshot of from the watch tower, watching over the other section, all while roller coaster is right next to it; inverted.

Well i am working on the park as I speak... I am going to work on it a lot over the weekend.. so expect it to be done soon...

sniper, on your area.. some of the paths don't connect up... are you going to have them connect???

It was something new I was trying Dark Rider. I did not want the pathways too connect, so the peeps have to use the chairlift to access the other two sections. The reason for this, is so that the peeps can can get a better feel for the park's theme. Now I realize they don't actual get a better feeling of it, but I'm sure you can catch my drift. Anyways, if you haven't noticed another major part of the theme... every is very tall, or high up (check out some of the names of the shops located up high). By having them use the chairlift, if gives the sense of having to go up high to the areas; the feeling that you can't just walk to them.

Sorry for the long answer... I tend to talk alot too... ;)

Yeah, he's had the file for like a month now. He just vanished from the boards, dunno whats up...I say just skip him and DL the latest link by sniper. It's just not fair that we agreed on a week each and he's had it for this long.

This is my plan since I think I am next

It is tax time so I am doing that, then I shall download this no later then Monday AM. I shall work on it next week and be able to turn it over no later then Sat urday the 17th. Is that fair? Does the thread need me to skip my turn and let the next person start?

If we hear from Darkrider between now and Friday I shall assume we are back to that sequence...

hey everyone i'm VERY sorry about the problem i probably caused.. to make a long story short, I lost my interent.. i have it back now, as I got all my problems sorted out... I even got a new wireless-G router :D ..

anyways, what happened with the competition? If you guys moved on i understand... it's not biggie.. but I did work on it somewhat.. if you want to see what I did.. although it kinda sucks lol...
