When Good Coasters Go Bad!

Ok I felt like holding a simple compitition.

If there's one type of attraction I love, it's one that taps into my 6th Sense. That sixth sense is the feeling you give your audience on your coaster. For example, if you're in a haunted house and the music and car slow down right in front of a door, I am assuming there is something scary behind it. That's the sixth sense. Accessing someone's emotions by telling a story. That's what the competition is.

I want you to build and record a coaster (of any kind EXCEPT TILT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I want you to use any theme to portray a "story" in which something goes wrong in the ride.

I will judge based on two things:

1. How well the coaster taps into my 6th Sense (see above)
2. The scenery used to portray the story.

The contest stops until the 5th entry is turned in. The prize you ask.........................well...............um...............A lot of gratitude? Sorry this is not for cash or any object of any kind. Only bragging rights.

Hi! I just wanted to let you know, I have officially begun building... well actually I offically started about an 2 hours ago, and I just decided that this is going to be my official theme. I had tried some other themes, and after quite a bit of progress with those themes, had decided they would not work. Anyways! I just didn't want you to think I had forgotten or given up. It's just going to take a little while longer. The timing required for some of this stuff is just annoying. Lets just say, I've had to listen to the first 30 secods of this song for about an hour and a half now. Well, back to work!

Oh, and if you are planning to also make an entry (I really am looking forward to one since it's your contest, even if it isn't judged) good luck!

Ok, this has definetly become quite the project. My progress has slowed down bit with alot of school work to deal with as well, however, here's a little snapshot of my progress. Just so you know how things are going. Also, a little note. About 90% of the coasters turns and special track peices are in synch with the music that will be playing... plus some other little features ;).

P.S: (Mainly to Rizzla, if you happen to see this) So much for compact coasters. This bugger just keeps getting bigger and bigger... not to mention I've already planned a stretch of coaster for a peice of the music that'll be atleast if not longer than it's width or length.

:) Sure I'm reading ya! As you know, compact coasters are all I can do cause I don't have the patience to fiddle around with scenery and such. I'd love to create my own park - or enter something to this competition, but I know I'd never get finished... Good luck!

Well, to be honest... after the first couple of days and no one else mentioning anything, I figured I was going to be the only contestant anyways :(. I'm still very interested to see my final product however, so I'm continuing on. The only problem I've found so far, is that when I record the ride, I'm going to have to do it in sections. I'm just finishing up the main structure (it's pretty damn big) and the coaster is really choppy. This destroys the timing... So anyways!

I like the trailer... I definetly can't wait to see the full movie. I have to honest with you though, I haven't had much progress with mine. It's been a busy week, plus it's been my turn for a another RCT3 thing. The 10 person pass it around park. I'll try to get back on track with this one. I've come so far, it would be a shame to give up now.

Swwwwweeeeeeet!:D :D , It may take a couple of days considering my work on my Cedar Point project:rolleyes: , but I'll definetly find some time, and may the best man win! ( this will be my first coaster competition!:D ) Well, while I'm at it, I'll tell you the theme of my story. Here it is: A huge fire erupted on a coaster and the blaze is out of control. Fire fighters are doing their best to control the blaze, but are having no luck, and they dont realize that there is one train car left, and your on it! And there's no way for fire fighters to reach you, so it's up to you to escape the blaze and survive, and your only hope of surviving is a long, deep elevator shaft which has not been used in years.

Ok, I'm out too... The concept for this contest was great, but it's just too much time consumption for me. I haven't worked on it for atleast two months now, and it's just not in me to finish it. If anyone were interested, the concept was the roller coaster entering in to the factory and then during the ride the factory errupts in to flames. The coaster is banked left and right, tossed up and down avoiding the flames and explosions. The entire ride coincides with the song "Liberi Fatali" from Final Fantasy 8. The flames and explosion effects are done using a fireworks display. The fireworks are from a pack downloadable at http://www.rctpyro.com. If anyone is interested in finshing this project, viewing what progress there already was, or any other possible purposes you may find for this, let me know. I'll send it via email, or try to post a link for download.

I am sorry DisneyFREAK1178. The concept for this contest was fantastic; just wish more people had entered. I will be keeping an eye on this tread just encase someone does want my unfinished project, but more especially to see your final product (if you do wish to continue it).
