I noticed that many websites have tips for everything to avoid long lines. So anyone who has been to a Disney Park can share and post their tips here. I have a few...
- Never visit during Holidays when people have no work or school. The lines will be horribly long and you will regret going.
- Visit during non Holiday times. I've been to Disneyland in February and for many rides you can just walk on or have a wait no longer than 15 minutes. Try to avoid President's Day. I've also heard that the beginning of October, December and late January is a good time to go as well. However, during non Holidays, more rides are closed but the park is HUGE but you get to do more things than in Summer and Christmas. Going on Saturday's during non Holidays aren't very bad either, at least for me. The longest wait was 30 minutes for Big Thunder Mountain and we used Fast Passes. Use FAST PASSES! So many people hate them for no reason and it's sad to see because it made our trip much more enjoyable.
- Purchase Park Hoppers! If you are just visiting and you don't live anywhere close to the area, you should buy Park Hoppers! Park Hopper allow you to walk from California Adventure to Disneyland or vice versa the same day! Start off the day with California Adventure because it closes usually at 6pm on weekdays and usually to get all the attractions done (if you go when the park opens) you will most like be done by 4pm to 6pm (depends on the lines) and since Disneyland is open till 8 usually on weekends, you can walk over to Disneyland for a couple extra hours and take in some rides there instead of doing them all in one day, instead of just going home after California Adventure closes.
- I love meeting the Disney characters and just a couple weeks back. I would suggest (if you don't care which character you meet) to head over to Critter Country and meet Pooh Bear and Tigger because Splash Mountain is closed until the middle of March and Critter Country was literally dead. Many websites say the main characters only hang out in ToonTown, that's not true! Many Disney characters can be found at the front of Main Street USA. I found Pluto, Max, Goofy and Mickey (many times I might add) in Main Street.
- I don't know why but I always find Donald Duck extra hard to find in the park. My last visit I found him hanging around in a corner in Toon Town, barely visible. So check in less populated areas of Toon Town. Another good place to find Disney Characters is in California Adventure when it's night time; the characters are harder to see and therefore have less lines.
- Since the new management took over, I found the Disney Characters to be more playful than in 2001. Pluto played with us, Donald gave us a high five and Minnie gave me a kiss. (Not really a tip but cool none the less).
- Don't be bummed out if some very good rides are closed. Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, The Disneyland Railroad & The Enchanted Tiki Room were closed but I still had a great time roaming around the park and going on rides I missed previous times.
Wow, what a long list! Anyone agree or disagree with my tips or have tips of their own? Please respond if you do.
