OK, this may be an odd question.....but does anyone know where to find info on ride collapses? I was on one site called RideAccidents.....but they had mostly major theme park accidents. I'm trying to find one from a local fair, where the ride collapsed - not sure of year - maybe 1995'ish? It is called the Bullet. Happened in NY State. Tried searching my local newspaper, but they didn't keep archives back too far.
Here are some photos of it:

Did you try searching RideAccidents by location?
1995 might be too early for RideAccidents to have anything if it didn't actually result in a fatality, but they usually do have carnival accidents as well as theme parks.
You might also try with themeparkinsider, but I don't know if it'll have what you're after, either.
Anyway, good luck in your search!

Thanks! Yup, I tried searching by location. I'll try your other tips too.
I'm pretty interested just for the fact that at our local fair, my father & I rode that ride (and this was a ride I normally would not have ridden - as I wasn't into upside-down rides, but I did enjoy it as far as I recall LOL) - later that night the ride collapsed. I don't really remember too much about it, but of course my mom freaking out over it when it was on the news. :) She's not too much into theme parks and the like. Far as I know there were no casualties.
I had one other experience when I was at the State Fair, riding some spinny type of ride - during the ride my lapbar came undone & boy did I hang on for dear life! Never told my mother about it either....that would have been the end of everything! I don't put much faith into the carnival/fair type of rides.....as lots of times they just don't get the proper care, employees don't do their jobs, and those rides are constantly torn dorn/reset back up. :bulb:

I can certainly understand your interest. I was at Michigan's Adventure exactly one week (to the day) before their Chaos ride collapsed, and rode on that ride at that time, along with my nephew. Fortunately, there were no fatalities. However, had it happened when my nephew and I were riding, there would have been a fatality -- my sister would have killed me! :D
When I was on one of my Summer Coaster Cruises, I got back to find that there were serious incidents that happened at two of the parks I visited on that trip -- one after my visit (at Ghost Town In The Sky) and one before my visit (at Wyandotte Lake). Fortunately, neither of those resulted in fatalities, either.
There have been some fatalities at some parks that I could have predicted based on my visit, such as one at SF New Orleans, and one at Magic Mountain. In both cases, I had sent warning letters to Six Flags months before the accidents, indicating how obvious the hazards were and giving some suggestions on how to address fixing those hazards. Unfortunately, the company apparently didn't take my letters seriously, and, sadly, fatalities occurred in ways that were painfully predictable -- it wasn't a question of if something would happen, it was a question of when it would happen. Admittedly, it's a source of sorrow to me that I'm not persuasive enough to get these issues fixed before something happens. On the plus side, on the rare occassions when I've seen an issue at Cedar Fair parks, I've seen them act swiftly to address the issues, so at least I'm persuasive enough to help Cedar Fair, even if I apparently can't persuade Six Flags.
