I was going to put in my application for KP, and while browsing their site, I noticed a lot of new information..
1. They have completely re-done the site, and it looks amazing!! It's a nice blend of colors, and a great menu.
2. The "Thunderbolt" has gotten new track, as shown here:

3. As a final, yet HUGE thing... the whole entrance to Kennywood Park is being re-done. They are making it much more efficient and beautiful... as stated, they are adding in a "State-of-the-art" admission/Ticketing service, Public rest-rooms, Group services building, new flowers/Foutains, and supposedly a lot more.

I, myself, am extremely excited and can't wait. It seems each year they are able to do more, and it never ceases to amaze me what they can do each year.

Funny as I was just in there site yesterday & today. Have never been there. We're going to Pittsburgh this weekend & when looking for a hotel, discovered that Kennywood is only 11 miles from the place we booked! So of course I had to check into it. I'm hoping I'll get a glimpse of the place if we drive near it. :)
Saw the ride Wipeout listed on their site - does someone have a photo of it? Would like to see what it is exactly. Sounds like they have some very interesting rides there!
Ohhhh....maybe someday!
edit: just found a photo of Wipeout here:

Since the ride takes out the wipeout they move the wipeout in place of the barren curve. What type of name is Extreme scream i beleive it is for the new ride?

Yes the new ride is called Swing Shot, and it looks freaking sweet.. I'm in the Air Force currently (reason for not posting in ages) but when I go back home on leave i'll take a photo..
Here is a description from kennywood.com:
"HRILLS ON THE SwingShot! It’s not your grandfather's swing!
Imagine your favorite, high-speed coaster. What do you like best? Most people go for the fast descent into a wild dip followed immediately by ‘air time’ as you crest the next hill.
Imagine a ride with that thrilling sensation of weightlessness immediately followed by another... then another... and another... over and over again, in very rapid cycles? Yeah, baby!
Everyone knows a coaster descent is only as good as gravity makes it, so this is where our imaginary ride gets even better. Imagine being actually powered down, i.e. driven, into the dip! Imagine that you are then powered back up to the next heart-pounding crest with dragster-like acceleration!
Now that’s what we’re talking about! A real thrill ride! One that isn’t a coaster, but thrills like one! And it is comes into existence as Kennywood’s new ride: SwingShot.
From the moment you board, you’ll know this is not your ordinary back yard swing. This is a thrill ride, a powerful blink of an eye' type dare, a white-knuckle ride. Be advised that timid, shy, quiet un-assuming folks may just be transformed into thrill ride junkies. SwingShot: Let’s Ride!"

I'm so excited as I just might be going to Kennywood this summer with my friend!!! This would be my first time at Kennywood. It sounds so neat as they have some historic rides, and of course I can't wait to ride all of their coasters! I think when I know for sure if/when I'm going, I'll post on here & ask when are the best times for certain things, best seats on rides, etc.
I read on their site the best times to visit for less crowds - to all of you that are regulars at Kennywood, do you agree?
Thanks!
I'm loading the video now to see the new ride, thanks for sharing the link!
