I don't think many would argue that Raging Wolf Bobs at Geauga Lake has become a very rough coaster.

But, have you seen the Geauga Lake construction photos at the Geauga Lake website (http://www.geaugalake.com)? It looks like the ride is being almost totally rebuilt!

Here's a picture from March 21:

Looking at all the work that's going on there, Geauga Lake should look quite a bit different in 2005 from how it looked in past seasons. I'm glad I got the Cedar Point season pass option that includes Geauga Lake -- I'm eager to see these improvements first-hand!

From the web site, it's very clear that they're rebuilding and not tearing down. They even bought a second Gerstlauer train from Holiday World to add to Raging Wolf Bobs so it'll be running two trains instead of just one.

The web site makes it very clear that the coaster is being refurbished. The park also tore down and rebuilt their Ferris wheel, for which the work appears to be just about complete.

Looking at the construction web site, it looks like there's a lot of good stuff going on to help turn that park around.

With RWB, I'd kind of like to see them leave it unpainted, like it was during the ride's first season. It's just my opinion, but I thought it looked better when it was natural wood rather than being painted white. (I rode the coaster during its first season -- the coaster was built to celebrate Geauga Lake's 100th year.)

dude, if RWB is getting rebuilt, chances r that your spine won't get that readjustment, so keep it up!:)

Funny thing about RWB -- my impression of it from when I rode it during its first season was that it was a very smooth coaster for a woodie. My impression was quite a bit different over the past couple of years. I'm hoping this major refurbishing effort returns the coaster to its smoothness from 1988.

In 1988, it reminded me quite a bit of Cedar Point's Gemini in its smoothness and general quality of ride.

smooth or not, that ride didnt do much for me. past it's prime. tear it down. trust.

I'm not A fan of Dinn Corp. coasters due to their fatigue issues.

Hey Harpo, do you know of any modifications to RWB that might help the aging process? The Dinn Corp. support structures seem to be very rigid.

Thanks for reading.

Well, basically what they are doing is reprofiling the tracks. so, it is essentially completely rebuilding the tracks. So it will be as smooth as it was when it was first built.

It looks as if A portion of the top half of the support structure is being replaced also.

Unfortunately, I don't know any more about their effort than what I can see from their website or have read about in a couple of news groups. But, I'd say that it looks promising.
