I am trying to run an unreal server from a network, but the game cannot be seen from outside the network. The ut server beacon is broadcasting the address as unreal://192.168.0.1:7777, and i have tried getting my victims to connect to my external ip (82.9.156.115), and this failed too. The game does not appear in the internet games list either. Does anybody know any solutions to this?

im not sure, but i think that 192.168.0.1 is the code for home, and others can't connect to it... but it might be a firewall issue. i think you have to open some ports to get it working properly...

My DI-524 came in..

4 Lan PC's connected right now and so did the wireless laptop ...

Went to set Game Server and the settings were a bit diff but it's up ..

In the Virtual Server Tab ENABLE each Port seperate.

For each one:

Put a dot in ENABLE
Name of server: UT or whatever
private IP is 192.168.0.*** the ip of the PC the game server is on.
Prorocol...these PORTS are UDP only

7777
7778
7779
7780
7781
7782
7783

This PORT is BOTH UPD & TCP:

8080

This PORT is UDP only:
27900

Ok now ..

Click the HOME Tab
Then the DHCP button on the left side
Make sure the top section the DHCP SERVER is ENABLED
Your range of IP's is set EG: 100-199
Lease Time 1 week

Now in the bottom section STATIC DHCP
Put a dot in ENABLED
Type the last numbers of the IP address of the PC with the server on it. EG: 192.168.0.***

In DHCP Client drop down box make sure the PC with the server on it is HIGHLIGHTED
Click CLONE
Click APPLY

There are PRESET Ports for applications that you can ENABLE/DISABLE..by default they are DISABLED..if you need to remove 1 to fit in 1 from UT do so.
Remove the 1's you DO NOT USE they are all disabled so not in use.

Post back and let me know how you made out!

Happy gaming ..

ive opened the ports specified, and this failed to yield any results. I have also tried disabling the firewall completely on all connected computers, again to no avail.

Unlike the source of the post, i am not using a router of any sort, but rather a hub. I get my internet from NTL, and it comes through the set top box. It is possible that this is acting as a router, but there is no visible ip for it.

Your efforts so far are greatly appreciated, and hopefully i can get this sorted soon.
