I have a dell 8400 series computer system. It's a pentium 4, 3.2g, 800 mhz, with 1 gig of ram at 533 mhz. I have the 17" dell lcd monitor. I just upgraded the video card to the nvidia geforce 6800 gt pci express video card, 256mb, ddr3. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what I should set the global driver settings for the best game performance on ut goty. Also, I read alot about overclocking. Is it really worth the risk of burning out the card? If yes, how high can you safely go up on the core clock and the other setting? I would greatly appreciate and comments. Thanks :) :) :) :)

for ut, and that card, you shouldnt need to overclock at all. the ut engine is suseptable (sp?) to overclocking and is better left alone.
open a regular map with no bots or players and stand somewhere you can see a big portion of the map.
use timedemo 1 or timedemo 0 to turn on the fps counter in the top right hand corner (i forget which one turns it on...)
then type preferences and from that dialog box, go down to rendering. you will know whether you are using d3d or opengl (or others?) and from here you can change settings on the fly.
change whatever you want and see what happens in relation to your fps and visual quality.
turn coronas off...:p
