I was away from the forum for awhile, but now am back and just stumbled across the thread by Caffinated regarding his covered bridges that he was working on. He had to quit, but in the last post he said he would post what he had finished. I have been searching all over and have not been able to find them anywhere. Could someone please let me know if he posted them and if so where I can find them. I really want the draw bridge for a castle if it is finished, but would love to see anything else he has gotten done.
Thanks in advance!!
His original post is http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=474327

Thanks. I did do a search though for every possible combination I could think of and it just kept coming up with the original posting and that was it. Maybe somebody has it out there somewhere. Here's hoping!

I haven't heard anything about them since they disappeared into The Great Beyond (ie: Page 2 and higher) ;)
Kinda disappointed they were never finished... they looked pretty impressive from the screenshots.

I thought he just changed the theme to just simply bridges. Didn't know he completely gave up, though.

Wee! A thread all about me /sniffs.
Anyway. My Milkshape trial (and photoshop :() did end, but I did post on that thread why I stopped development of the bridges.
Basically, I didn't have the time to devote to the modelling of the fairly complex models (for me, I'm not that great at the 3d world). Also, my texturing skills severly lack and no matter what I did, I could not get a good looking textured model in the game. There were always weird spots and stretched textures.
This was compounded when I attempted to start the next type of bridges (Truss) and just could not get a decent looking model made with a decent poly count.
Perhaps things will ease a bit with the forecasted transparency textures (since instead of a wall having 6 pieces individually created, it can be flat with a proper transparency placed on it, but I don't know.
Apologies for those who were looking forward to them, but I did not want to release to you a substandard product :(.
If anyone wishes to continue on this, go for it, I will even send the work I have already completed if you need it.
