Here's my take on the Minimum Requirements:
Pentium III 1GHZ CPU(AMD Athlon 1.5GHZ)
256MB RAM
64Mb DirectX compatible display card
DirectX compatible sound card
Keyboard and Mouse
Windows XP only

On my laptop, its a Hyperthreading processor with a gig of ram. The Intel Extreme graphics is the display driver. I could not however run the Lord of the Rings Return of the King PC demo. Said I needed to update the drivers or something of that sort. Are you PC hardware savvy? Is that perhaps just a glicth or how would I update drivers for this? I bought this laptop brand new this February. It's not old. It's a Gateway.

I would like to get more into PC gaming. I also have a PS2, but I want to explore having stuff that I can play on my laptop.

It would be so cool if Namco has a version of Tekken 5 for the PC, and its upcoming Soul Calibur 3. If Atari had released a version of Godzilla: Save the Earth for PC that would have been nice, as its an online playable game and the PC is an internet machine in all respects by today's standards.

Will Path to Neo be online playable for PS2 and PC? Any comment?

The problem is you are using an Intel chipset, which is not a graphics card. So when games say they require something like "64 MB Direct X8 Compatible Video Card", you do not meet the requirements.

DARN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was going to start a PC library too. Can you upgrade a laptop to an ATI, and if so how much? Hopefully its not too off topic.

It's possible to upgrade it on some models, but it depends on who makes it, as you'd have to send it back to them. And it's fairly expensive. So it's not really worth it.

Thanks Pyros for the info. I had hoped to start a PC library. So in other words I need a new computer, because my new computer won't give me what I want to do. And its just like money grows on trees. That 1300 dollars wasn't enough the first time.

I think I will give Gateway a call. They touted the notebook computer could play PC games.

Guys guys guys.....you're all jumping to conslusin. This thread is about guessing the final requirements of the game NOT the official requirments. The requiremnts at the top is just made up.

Path of Neo WILL require a video card, there is no doubt about that. And considering how the game looks, I doubt that Timothy's video chip will be able to run it, it's not meant to run graphic-intensive games.

Yeah, I know. However, DOOM 3 seemed to run fine on my dad's laptop. It's running on 1.7GHZ, 256MB RAM and Intel Chipset video driver!
Edit: how did you lose your modship?

See, Pyros? If you would have kept your mod status you wouldn't have to answer this question over and over again. ;)

My guess on the system requirements:

3.4 GHz Dual Core processors
2 GB DDR2 RAM
256MB 7800GTX
Audigy2 ZS
Mac OSX only

Edit: That's the bare minimum.

The Doom3 engine was very scalable though. And I resigned.

My guess is 2GHz, 256 mb ram, 64 mb video card. I have a bad feeling, though, that it will require 512 mb ram. I hope it doesn't, I've never added more ram before.

I fear this will probably be another conversion from ps2, possibly done better than ETM, but still a conversion from an inferior machine, so the requirements will probably be relatively low, I'd say a 1.4ghz pentium 3 machine with a dx8 generation card and 512mb of ram would be a realistic and working minimum requirement

By the way, my first post on these forums, hello everyone from an italian avid Matrix fan!

Greetings from Malaysia.

Pyros, did you give up because of the new moderator?

I don't think so, as I don't know what mod you're talking about?

Adding RAM is very easy. It's one of the easiest upgrades to do, in fact.

Yeah. And it will probably recommend 512, which is something most gamers should be running at anyways.

Mattlab.

No, Matt is doing a great job.

Anybody have a good guess as to when they will officially announce the necessary requirements?

Well they announced the requirements of Fahrentheit 1 month before it went gold. Using the Probablity of time, dividing it with the numbers of event horizon, adding pie j by the power of 2 and minusing dy dx, I'd say a month before it goes gold.

You forgot to multiply by the reciprocal. I'll bet 3 yen that the requirements will be announced somewhere in September. ;)

my guess is the following for recommended pc requirement NOT minimum

2GHz+
256Mb graphics with dirext x9 (like doom 3 on pc)
about 3~4 GB HDD
and all the usual about saound card and keyboard etc

but this about XP is totaly untrue as it cant be otherwise Atari would have a huge problem as most ppl use and trust older version of windows. xp is the same as any other version of windows just beefed up the GUI mode and a few security checks and thats about it

Well Atari pulled an XP only trick on Act of War. I strongly believe they'll do the same with MTPN.
