Hi all,
I was wondering if someone could explain how to create
custom textures for use with custom scnery. What would be great is if someone could explain the steps from when I open Photoshop.
I under stand they must be BMP to the power of 2 etc etc but what does that mean? as everytime I have tried the textures never work
Thanks in advance

It must be an 8 bit bmp.... The power of 2 means means the pixels must be: 64x64,128x128, 512x512 etc. But, I don't know how you assign the textures to certain faces of the object.
BTW, this should be in general discussion.....

Thanks for the reply. For some reason Photoshop wont let me save an 8-bit bmp..it only lets me select 16, 24 or 32 bit. while 1, 4 and 8 bit options are greyed out

^ Yeah, that's the same with me.. It's the only thing that's stopping me making my custom scenery.

*Sigh* to get 8bits in the photoshop.
go Image tab > Mode > Indexed Color. that's it

^^^ I also struggle with texturing faces, At one point I thought I had it figured but then it all went wrong.
So for now I stick to texturing whole objects, which is fine for now but it does limit me to only being able to create certain things.

Well, I have anim8or and I looked at the tutorials on the official site and I found one for adding textures. So I'm happy now.
