Custom Scenery - Alton Towers (Version 3 Released (Link on First Page))

I've still got a ton of work outside this project still to do. I've had a couple of problems both with PC and health that, has really knocked what I was doing. Hopefully will be back to full steam ahead by the weekend.

On this point, once Version 3 is released, I do not plan to do any more Alton Stuff until I can get some of my other promises to people finished. Hopefully, this won't take long, maybe a week or so then, I'll start work on some of the other bits people are looking for.

I don't really want to inconvience anybody that is using this stuff so, if there is something specific that, I could possibly get finished for Version 3 let me know and, I'll see what I can do.

Here is a quick pic of one of the new scnery items for Version 3, Refresh@spinball.

It has been design so you can fit 3 food \ drinks stalls within the walls and, peeps can still use it. You have to watch the heights of the stalls you are placing as, they can poke out of the roof a little bit but, if I increase the height, the stalls counters disappear so, a bit of a compromise.

Should get a pic of the Ride Photo stand up tomorrow night.

Thanks Sawer for the pic. As BCC said, it may not be too helpful due to the car being in the way. However, cause all you luck sods are testing Wild and taking a break from your creations, I'll try and create the texture myself since, at least I now have a better pic

The first thing I need for my Disneyland project is a Victorian roof set. The spooky roof is the right height (3 tiles) but is ugly. The generic roof pieces that came with RCT3 are only 2 tiles high. And none have dormer windows.

Below is what I'd like. The dormer windows need to be a separate piece so they can be used on different roof styles if needed. They should be shaped like the red outline so they can also be added to roofs with different steepness (if that's a word). When added to a 3 tile high roof, they should be centered up and down, just like the pic below.

The dormer windows are top priority. If you don't have time for a roof set, I would be happy to at least get the windows. And, of course, all must be colorable with no collision detection.

You are so right Shyguy. The dormer windows do need to be a separate piece that is colorable. Frontier really missed the boat on this piece. That window would make a big difference.

Leave it with me shyguy. Should have a model ready to show you by tomorrow. Re-colourable should be interesting as, I've never managed to get any successful results with this but, what the hell there is a first time for everything.

Oh, and will you be able to do the 3 tile high roof set? If not, you'll need to make the windows smaller so I can use them with the 2 tile high roofs sets that came with RCT3.

Sorry about delays people. Had business trip which, was supposed to last two days and, eventually lasted all week.

I've just about finished the V3 release and, should have it posted tomorrow for download.

Have not had the opportunity yet to do the ball in play sign as, all the pics i have of it contain either scenery or people in ithem. I did try and recreate the sign graphics however, they looked so bad I decided not to go any further.

Work has also calmed down a bit now so, I'll get working on the V4 release which, will come out after Wild has been released as, most of the Alton Towers recreations are being done by Wild Beta testers.

nevermind...i will take the next few days putting together pics for PN's version 4 and i will try to include as much as possible if there is a lot then i would suggest version 4 then 5 lol

Updates - Adventure Land (Spinball Whizzer awaiting supports from pumpers new creation). Under Construction - Storybook Land & Old Mac Donalds Farm.

Work is still in progress, so please excuse the little errors finishing touches eg. tables, benches, rocks floating in mid air, and for those wondering what the circus is..well its the ice show lol and also the trampolines is adventure land play equipment. lol

As you may have seen further back in this thread i posted pics of X-Sector & Adventure Land. Well here are a few more updates. Thanks again to PN and all the custom scenery makers for making this possible.

ADV Land looks cool, but a little innacurate, if you are picky like me:p (would look very good as an original park:D ), e.g the coloured blocks are only on one side (about a 3rd) and the track is a little off, the very first turn starts sooner, and the catwalk before the big drop seems about 1 square 2 big. Other than that, cool.:cool: :up:

I hope when you have completed it you will put it up for download. oh and 1more thing. how many squares do u use.(width,length) and how do u make it bigger quicker. it takes ages for me.

i have managed to get pics for most signs in alton towers that we may need...29 pics in total so i am going to send PN them via PM or email, then it saves me posting 29 pics full size and taking 18 pages to do it lol

i will write a list of them shortly in this post once i get them off to PN. Most pics and signs can be found on towersnerd and towers times, great sites.

can't you just copy the file into 'Scenarios' in the RCT3 folders on your computer?

i have tried this already and it just keeps loading from the custom scenario load screen as a sandbox park, which is really weird

The contents of the zip need to be extracted to the C/Program Files/Atari/RollerCoaster Tycoon 3/Style/Themed folder.

I have downleded your custom alton towers v3 theming before I got rct3 wild and it works but not without geting error messges to pop up on my screen when a park with this custom scenery that you have made will it be fixed to work with rct3 wild? I am asking this becuse I relly liked your alton towers theming I hope that you uploed your alton towers theming to work with rct3 wild.

About the Air Sign, download the version on Jonwills page, it's bugfree: http://www.sebar.com/jonwil It's the first pack listed for Park Novice. About version 4, I think we can forget that one, Park Novice has been away for half a year already :( And for Coaster Kid, the Queen of Speed launch lights (raceway countdown) isn't it the pack (although from what I can remember). please help! im new to all this, i was looking for the custom AT scenery. (which i can see you've done amazingly btw!!) Since i am creating AT myself on rct3 with all the expansions,
its taken a few days solid just to do towers street and storybook land.my poor boyfriend can't get me off it! Just thought it would be very cool to have some realistic signs around where there should be. BUT being naturally blonde i can't figure out how to download them..lol :rolleyes:

-Type the security code and then download file
-When downloaded, open the file up.
-Select all the files, click on extract all, then browse to your RCT3 directory, i.e. C:\Games\RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, and find a folder called 'style', open that up and then open up 'themed' folder. Click Ok.
-Open up the above directory i.e. C:\Games\RollerCoaster Tycoon 3\Style\Themed and check to see the Alton Towers folder is inside. If it is, open up RCT3 and away you go :)

:D yup i followed what you said. i figured it out straight after i posted, lol but i keep getting the dreaded sid: error, or whatever its called...which always crashes my game, i looked on the tutorial on this site. which wasn't very helpfull because i had done everything right but it was still happening...
But however, when i came round to my bf's house and played it on his and downloaded the same custom content the same way.. it worked!!!!! :weird: No fair! so im still not sure how to fix it really. but i will have another go when i get home, and repost. Its doing my nut in!!! haha :p

just a few suggestions, ive started making a rec, and ive made the entrance, monorail stations, nemesis and air, but looking at pictures of FV area, theres a big nemesis sign thats above the entrance to that part of FV, theres a sign above the entrance to Blade and also the logo for ripsaw is only 1 square wide, and the ride is 4, meaning its out of place, so if possible could you change it somehow? other than that the rest is great :) p.s. the oblivion drop is a bid dodgey, it has fences like those off the jurassic park game for PC, if you like i can get you screenshots if it will help you

you have to unzip it to C:\Program Files\Atari\Roller Coaster Tycoon 3\Style\Themed and then copy and delete a few folders until you are left with a single folder containing all the objects for the CS and 2 other OVL files.
