Um, do you have to pre-order to get the limited edition?? Or can you get one by showing up to a store on the release date?

Well, its not really a 'new' edition. It is a limited edition, meaning that there are only X amount available to buy. As for what the limited edition will do, I don't know, from what I've read it may include a making of the game style documentary with it, or some other sort of goodie. Ergo, those who refuse to pay more for the Path of Neo Limited Edition, if unchecked, will constitute an escalating probability of jealousy.
Which leads me back to my original question: Do you have to pre order to get the limited edition? Or can you just buy it at the store on the release date?

Well, thanks for your valuable input!
My guess is that the Limited Editon will contain DVD style extras with stuff like concept art, interviews with the developers, dev diaries, things like that. You'll probably have to get it through pre-order.

I would think your chances of getting the limited edition version would be higher if you were to preorder. Besides, I don't see the difference in that or going to the store?

I don't plan on pre-ordering, I never do (ok I did once for City of Heroes to get a prestige power but that was it)
Anyway, I'm a little concerned about this limited edition thing... it feels like if I don't manage to snag a limited edition I don't get the "making of" DVD? But they enver said anything about limited edition being for pre-order only, so probably it will be available...

UGH!
What is this new trend with video games lately? Having to spend 10 bucks or more for a few extra features? Game like:
Ultimate Spider-Man
DBZ Budokai 3
Mortal Kombat: Deception
The Matrix: Path of Neo
Just to name a few.
The extras in three of the above listed games didn't impress me, but if Atari can manage to make the extras worth while for the Matrix game...I just might spend the extra money.

Some features are really worth it though. For example, "makings of" videos. I've always been interested in game design, so I love those and would gladly pay the extra.

for this one i would pay the extra for a "making of "or a kind of deleted features or ideas that did'nt make the game(like movies do) but are worth mentionning.to help us appreciate the attention given to the task at hand...i have faith the professionnals at Shinny will deliver, they must!for the sake of the franchise ,their own sake and for the people like us,the fans standing on the sidelines waiting helplessly but impatiently too :D
it should be an event on its own!but lets see ....1 month left

It gets even worse when the games are out for a while. Few examples, maybe not every store but a lot from what I've seen.
City of Heroes - Regular $30.00
Collector's Edition DVD $25.00
Mortal Kombat: Deception Regular $30.00
Collector's Edition $20.00
So if you are unsure about Path of Neo and you want to wait until it's cheaper, hey looks like you can just get the Limited Edition for cheaper than the regular, if its still available when the game is say, $30.
