As u all know. SF is selling their chain. For those who don't know, when stocks went down, before they soared, Daniel Snyder, owner of the Washington Redskins and the stadium they play in, tried to take total control of the company, fire the other owners, and have him and his men control. But the other 7 owners are selling the company so that they can get rid of Snyder, and save themselves from Snyder. So tell me what u guys think, what would of happened if Snyder really got control.

Um, It's Daniel Snyder not Bill Snyder. As far as what would happen if he took over I really don't have a clue. Some say he would be a good thing for the company. Others say he would turn everything into housing areas. So in short, I don't really know.

Everything would become sports themed, in particular for HIS team?

Sorry for the spelling error. Thought it was Bill (Bill Gates:rolleyes: ?) I would see it already, Kingda Ka would be renamed "Clinton Portis Xpress" and the Runaway Train will be named "Redskin Mine". And a replica of their stadium will be in the middle of the park, and the show in it would be actors dressed as players and it would be "Washington Redskins VS the NYG". And who knows, Rolling Thunder will become "Washington Redskins VS Dallas Cowboys:The Rivalry". :haha: lol. Love the idea Skipper.

If Snyder assumes control it may finally mean some new coasters soon for SFA.....with the close proximity of fed-ex field to SFA you know that Snyder really wants the park to succeed & it needs some help because the park was practically empty when I was there yesterday.Snyder knows where SF's current woners went wrong:they messed up by giving rides,& more importantly coasters to only 3 parks in the chain over the past few years(most of us here know which parks are spoiled & which are not) & it's time someone did something to change that....Snyder's probably the right guy for the job.

Considering what the company is worth at the moment-they could take over/buy it;declare bankruptcy and discharge/restructure the debt; then sell some under performing parks to developers and not only have the whole thing pay for itself-but make a tidy profit in the meantime. They are then left with a smaller number of better performing parks and cash in the bank to focus improvements on those parks and get the whole thing back on track.... not a bad plan...
Just remember that it didnt go to crap overnight so it wont get fixed overnight either...

If Snyder buys it, look for a lot more commercialism in the parks that are kept. Look for most vacant land surrounding the parks to be sold off to developers, thereby limiting growth potential for the parks. Look for many of the smaller parks to be sold, either to developers (meaning the parks will be closed forever) or to other amusement park companies (in which case they will remain open, and could improve).
Regarding sale of the parks, there are only a few amusement park companies that would be able or willing to buy some of the Six Flags parks, hence I'd say it is likely that some of the parks will be closed and sold to developers, which would be unfortunate. Cedar Fair may be willing to buy a couple of parks, but they're not happy with the condition Geauga Lake was in when they bought it -- it required a LOT more work than they anticipated to get it to Cedar Fair's safety standards. The style of the parks are a better fit for Cedar Fair than for companies like Busch, Disney, or GE (Universal). Kennywood Entertainment or Herschend Family Entertainment may show some interest, but, as rather small companies, they might not be able to afford to buy any Six Flags parks. I've heard rumors that the Koch family of Holiday World may be interested in buying a park, but, again, they're a small company and wouldn't be able to afford much.
It'll certainly be interesting to see just what winds up happening to Six Flags.
