Hi all

I bought the game fahrenheit (I.P.) in germany but i think it doesn't matter. I decided to purchase a gamepad along with the game. The pad alone works fine but i think the game may have some errors.
The "action point" if you start some actions most of the time is not centered and hard to get centered. that is very frustration when you have to do something under pressure. Also the action sequences can not be player so easy. most of the time my right analog stick doesn't react. i don't know what it is but i can play every game with this pad without any trouble

i own the Speed Link Ecounter SL-6534 Dual Vibration Pad

Can anyone help me?

Is this a known problem?

Thanks for your help

Wierd. I have a PS2-USB adapter and use a PS2 controller connected to my PC, and I don't have any problems at all.

Sorry, but I'm clueless what the problem could be for you. You got the latest drivers for the gamepad?

Did you enable the analog button? You couldtry calibrating your gamepad.

Hi
i tried if a recalibration would solve my problem but i didn't.
i still stops working at times. it makes me crazy. beting the game always switching to keyboard during action sequences is very annoying...

Definitely sounds like the calibration on your gamepad is bad.

Open up the gamepad control panel without touching the gamepad and you should see a little red + in a white box. If that red + isn't centered in the box than you gamepad isn't calibrated. If you calibrate the stick and then go back to the control panel and the red + isn't centered again then either something is reseting your calibration or you have a bad gamepad.

Hi
i checked it twice...but the calibration is perfect...and the fact that my pad works perfect with other games is really weird...

hey,

I have this problem with the demo, so I guess I'll have with the full version too.

my gamepad is similar to Mopedman's I guess, a ps2 styled usb pad. calibration is perfect and it works great on every game I played except fahrenheit

the drawing dot on action icons doesn't reset, exactly the same problem. hopefully someone knows how to fix it T_T .

Hi
Maybe it is an incompatibility within tha game?
Maybe only a patch can fix it???

Hope we'll find out soon

got the full version and the problem persists, tried every setting possible and I know the pad is working percetly with everything else.

I think that the faulty right axis on the timed sequences is linked to the "not resetting to center" as it presents the same behaviour when we try to do actions without centering the cursor first.

on the about panel of the properties of the pad it says generic game pad driver v2.2

I have the newest driver available on the manufacturer's site and when executing the installer it says A4K12 joypad driver.

I hope someone with knowledge sees this and helps us, I played the game with the keyboard cause I couldnt move away from it, but I'd love to play on the pad, so :)

I got the same problem too.
The calibration of right analog is working good in control panel and other games. However, in this game, when I moved the right analog a little bit, it wouldn't go back to the center point. I have tried the other gamepad but came out with the same problem.

Hi
I don't know why but yesterday the problem was gone...maybe just yesterday...haven't tested today...

reconstruction:

i started my pc...did nothing with my gamepad (the analog-modus is off by default i have to press a button on the pad first).
I started I.P. and loaded my profile. i continued the game and activated the analog-modus. the game centered the left and right stick perfect (i also go problems with the left stick but only twice) and i was able to beat every actionsequence...

i'll test it and tell you if it works...

*EDIT*

OK...i did it the way i wrote above...and it worked...the pad is doing exactly what it is supposed to.

Maybe the user with the same problem should also try this:
(i did this earlier)

restart your pc
do an all new recalibration
restart your pc
disable the analog-function if it is on by default
start the game...load and continue the game
enable the analog-function

i found this our with a new profile...maybe you should also try this...

please report if i worked with your gamepad

I noticed a similar problem with my newly purchased Logitech Cordless Rumble Pad 2. Before I was using a Playstation One controller with a USB adapter with no problems but for some reason, now I am having the right analog calibration issues. Maybe an ingame calibration tool could be added to the patch since it seems to be game related rather than a specific hardware issue.

mopedman : lucky you :)

your fix didn't work with me the cursos still gets all over the place but never in the center :/ when the right analog is turned off it does pop to the center, exactly where it should be, but when I turn it on it goes back to it's screwed self.

have fun with the game, I'll wait to play it properly :)

I have another possible solution.

I've got a Gemini Recoil gamepad (4-axis 12-button w/vibration), and I was having the same problem w/the right analog stick. I fixed it by disconnecting the gamepad, completely uninstalling the manufacturer's drivers, then reconnecting the gamepad & using the WinXP driver instead. Worked like a charm.

Excuse me, I'm going to go play now. :D

EDIT: I should also mention that this will deactivate vibration if your controller supports it, since the WinXP driver doesn't support vibration.

I have done all the above suggestions AND the one listed here:http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=497114

But i am having the same problem as the rest of you. I am using the Recoil dual analog pad in the EU version.

Did you completely uninstall the drivers? Your gamepad should be listed in Control Panel | Game Controllers as "USB 4-axis 12-button gamepad" and not the "GGE Recoil" whatever-it-was.

Yes. On my game controller list is the "USB 4-axis 12-button gamepad". I'm still at a loss.

It seems like people are getting the game to work, but I have no clue how =( i'm at the first police department level and I'm not willing to go further until I can accurately use the Yoyo... right now, its impossible

Well, crap.

I don't really know what to suggest at this point. I do wonder, however, if the USB port version may have something to do with it, or possibly the chipset drivers.

For the record, my PC has an Intel 865 chipset.

I was also just looking at the USB hubs properties, and I noticed that this particular controller uses 450mA of power, out of a maximum 500mA. That seems quite a bit to me.

Of course, I could just be rambling. :D Try giving Atari TS a call.

I do wish they'd release a patch, though. :sour:
