Downloaded the demo, but the InstallShield Wizard says "The wizard was interrupted before the Indigo Prophecy Demo could be completely installed..."

So I manually extracted Data1.cab to its own folder and tried to run it (without much hope of it working), but when I did, I get the error message: "SCHEDULER::Boot(): either boot Class or Method is invalid, can't boot VM."

Any way I can either install it PROPERLY or fix these two errors? This really got me bummed out; thought I would be able to play after having to download it overnight...

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: By the way, YES my system exceeds the minimum requirements; NO the download wasn't interrupted; things should have gone off without a hitch...

Make sure you're running the latest version of the windows installer from windowsupdate.microsoft.com.

Just because your download wasn't interupted doesn't mean it couldn't be corrupt, especially if you downloaded over a 56K which I presume you did given than you said you had to download it overnight.

If updating windows installer doesn't work you might have to re-download it. Alternately if you have an XBox you can just spend a couple bucks on a XBox magazine that has it on the demo disk. Also if you have a friend with broadband you could ask him/her to download the demo and burn it to a CD for you.

Definitely running the latest version of Windows Installer, and I have cable; took me 35 mins overnight (I meant I didn't watch it download) so maybe it's corrupt?...hmm...

Well, this absolutely bites. I have the latest everything, I re-downloaded it and was on the computer the entire time (so no error), and now, lo and behold, it still doesn't work. Don't see any reason why it shouldn't...

My suggestion is that you redownload the demo from the official site www.indigoprophecy.com and then also make sure before installing that you have the latest drivers for your graphics card. Also be sure to do a windows update.

If this still does not work try going into run > type in msconfig > go to the startup tab and disable everything. Then see if it installs. If yes then most likely something on that list of programs is causing your install not to work. Try the first paragraph of suggestions before you go to the second.

I had the exact same problem with the demo, no matter how many times I downloaded it, no matter how many times I tried to get a more up to date version of the installer, it just didn't work.

So, instead, I bought a PC mag with the demo on, it worked perfectly!
