That's because it isn't finished. They're just laying the "skeleton" of the ride. It'll all be fine-tuned!

Dude, u have to try woodies, they rock.
Gravity Group as mentioned earlier is doing what they did on Hades. The skeleton gets put down, and then the track comes on.

*After that d*** El Toro announcement:*
It'll be the 4th fastest, 4th tallest, 3rd largest drop, 3rd longest, and 2nd steepest drop woodie on the planet. It'll have the most airtime of any other woodie with over 24 seconds.
Even though El Toro beat it's records, Voyage will still kick it's butt with an original layout designed to form with the topography. It's an out-and-back style coaster with a twister turn-around and a total of 8 underground moments.
It's being constructed by The Gravity Group of Cincinati, OH. The Gravity Group was formerly Custom Coasters International which build coasters like Raven, Legend, and Boulder Dash. The Gravity Group has already constructed one coaster: Hades in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin at Mount Olympus.
YEA VOYAGE!

In addition, Voyage was lead designed by my personal favorite designer, Larry Bill. Gravity Group is all of the guys of CCI minus Denise and Randy. Gravity Group (I'm wearing a Greavity Group shirt now, hehe) seems to take a much more aggressive approach to their coasters than CCI did. Nothing against CCI, they were a great company, but Gravity Group is already proving bigger and better. :D

might be just me but, i think woodies are making a come back. all of this after Dollywoods Thunderhead. i love custom woodies that weave in and out of the trees. they have so many features that steel coasters just cant accomplish. hoo-ray for woodies!

LOL woodies have been making a comeback since Great American Scream Machine at SFOG and Screamin' Eagle at SFStl to name a few.

I seem to recall a lot of people saying that woodies were making a comeback in the U.S. around the time that Texas Giant, Mean Streak, and Hercules were built. Other wood coasters that were built in that same 3 year period (1989-1991) were Timber Wolf, Georgia Cyclone, Predator, Thunder Run, Wildcat (Well, relocation to Frontier City), and Psyclone.
It's actually rather hard to find a year in recent history when a couple of wood coasters haven't been built, but 2006 will have a couple of very prominent wood coasters, hence making it feel like a "comeback."
Looking back, it appears that no new wood coasters were built in 1987, although one wood coaster was relocated that year. Same can be said for 1985. No wood coasters were built in 1984.
But, starting in 1988, there's been at least one new wood coaster every year in the United States.

Oh guys i'm not telling u to shut up. I agree, it's like how I feel about SFMM getting Tatsu to have 17 or 16 coasters (depends if Superman is considered a coaster, to me it isnt) to beat or tie Cedar Point. I know how ya feel:).

HUH? The name isn't stupid! It's based off of the voyage of Christopher Columbus. "THE VOYAGE" of Christopher Columbus. Very appropriate.

Isn't it based off of the Voyage of the Mayflower coming to Plymouth? :confused:It is thanksgiving, and thanksgiving is atleast 130 years after Columbus.

Hehe. Cornball express is a narrow gauge track CCI used. The trains were special order from PTC. This was also done on Zach's Zoomers @ Michagan's Adventure. If I remeber correctly, the track width of the narrow gauge woodies was like 28 or 30 inches, versus the 37.5" industry standard. These tracks were built with 5 layers of 2x8, toped off with 2 layers of 2x10. They were used on the more family type coasters.

^They do look like sardines packed into that front car.:haha: It almost looks like it's the size of a junior coaster train, where it fits a child and an adult.
