If atari desides to put a 24 hour clock i think it would be cool if it ran according to the time on your PS2! So in the begginig of the game you would just start at the time your playing at. And it should just continue even when your not playing!

ok so maybe it should just pick up wherever you left off and it would remember the time it was when you saved the game.

That's an awesome idea. However, there should be a menu option for it.

"Real Time Environment: On/Off"

There would be a drawback (however) The drawback would be that the game would cost more.

Hasn't been an issue yet.

Why would the game cost more? The Madden NFL series has an option to play games under conditions as specified by the internal clock of your system; I don't see why they'd charge more for such a feature in Driver 4.

Well Madden you see is a multi-Billianaire compiny and Driver is just starting out.

First of all, "Madden" is not a company, and has no net worth. "Madden" is a game (and before that, he was an actual guy! ;)), created by EA Sports (IIRC). EA Sports may very well be a multi-billionaire company, but who says Atari isn't?

Additionally, Driver is anything BUT "just starting out". The Driver franchise has been around for six years. Atari as a company has been around for over three decades.

u should be able to choose your favorite season in the pause menu. it would be sweet to see cars trying to get out parking spaces in the snow with the front or rear wheels spinning fast. in driv3r the AI sucked so badly that if you move a traffic car offcoarse the driver gets out

I think that it should be like the Simpsons Hit&Run, so if it's December 25th on the system it will be snowing in the game with people dressed up like santa walking around.:D

Yeah, and in SimCity4 there's snow on the 25th too, (it's christmas all winter long on my computer...)

But seriously, a 24 hour clock is a seriously debated topic in online games. Not so much in single-player, but D:PL does have online modes...

no, it shouldnt have a 24 hour clock, but it should have a year round clock so it was the same day ingame as it was irl, so it would be winter ingame and in real life. but if there is a 24 hour clock i agree, it should be optional.

I still think that it would be cool to have a 24 hour clock. I hope that Reflections one day does work on this. And I know that it would be dumb to have the clock setup the same as of the real world so it would be better if you'd have to resume your game in order to see the rest of the day. Lets say that you've been playing the game until 8:00 pm, saved the game, and turned the game off. You can then turn your game on the next day and continue from where and when you started. Wouldn't that be a great idea?

yeah a clock that resumes where you last saved is much more sensible than one synched to a console's clock. I still like the idea of a scaleable clock, where you can set it at increments between 24 hours and 1 minute, even as an unlockable.

And if a game want's to simulate seasons in real time like animal crossing did, than it should be able to switch the seasons for us in the sothern hemisphere. Overlooking that is just downright patronising.

(not that it matters anyway- D:PL is probably just hours away from going gold)

Well, it should at least have snow in the game at least once because it's New York you know what I mean? It's one of the coldest places in America!

D:PL should have a snow cheat for the 2006 part of the game. It's winter of '06 at that time.

Ive had that idea before, but at the stage their in it probably isnt possable
and it wouldnt be as interesting for people who are only home at the same time every day

I think that it would be a lot better if Reflections included every single season for the game instead of just one because that way if you get bored of a particular season like fall and winter you can just move on to Summer and Spring.

wasn't dynamic seasons and weather mentioned in the bugs/cheats thread? well anyway They should have weather- even the first driver had different weather- before gta! Having no weather is just another step backwards for driver. Sure, it doesn't affect gameplay, but it's like so many other things D:PL doesn't have- it's become the norm in other games and is more or less a standard by now. You want people 'noticing' new stuff your game has, not 'noticing' new stuff other games have that don't appear in yours...

Playing through GTA, watching the day turn to night and back, but it seems to happen too fast. Just hope Driver: PL's clock is longer than 24 minutes; representing 24 hours.

If they spread a whole day out to 1 hour, better yet, add an option to adjust the day/night cycle; slow (1 hour), fast (24 minutes) or off (constant daytime or night). (I know, too late to add this for Driver:PL, since they're almost ready to ship the game...)

The best day/night cycle time frame I've played would be Cabela's Big Game Hunter. Takes like 40 minutes to turn to night. Speed it up by resting in the tent.
True Crime:NY's day/night clock is too fast. And it rains too much in that game.

If I were to go with a game clock then I'd just go with the one that is the 24 hr clock and that you are able to resume from whatever time it was in the game after you stopped playing. It's not such a big deal to have 24hrs in a game. I think that it would suit best if you could resume from anytime it was when you last played the game and that it would have 24hrs. I mean it's not like you'll miss the rest of the day and it doesn't seem right to me how fast most game clocks are. I mean maybe this will clear up any problems like in the GTA games I can't stand to watch the sun rise. After every 23 minutes the sun rises and it's kind of hard to see so maybe the game should take it a little slow. It's not like you'll finish the game in only a week so it sort of makes sense to have it this way. And you should be able to keep track of how many days have passed by just like in the GTA games so that you know exactly how long it took for you to beat the game.

If you watch the gameplay videos carefully it looks like 3 minutes in the game is 3 minutes on earth. Not 1 minute=1 hour.

I never noticed that about the game. Thanks for letting me know Mr. Tanner. I appreciate it.

If Reflections doesn't use any of these ideas for DPL then they should do it for D5. I don't think that they've got anymore time to add a feature for DPL anyway.

True. Oh, John Cena, I went to Gamestop a couple days ago and I say the smackdown game for sale. I saw the same picture of you for your avatar on the cover. Do you have that game?

Well I've played it before, but other than that I don't have it. It's a really good game and maybe I'll pick it up someday.
