Not surprised that they included 'em. The towers were completed in '76 I believe. However, this probably means to aircraft.

Whoops. Typo. I meant "no". See, GTAIII was originally going to have different aircraft- but because it was released right after 9/11, they removed everything except the stunted Dodo due to possible outcry over people flying planes into buildings in the game. If Driver 4 has the towers themselves, I doubt they will let you have aircraft that you could fly into them.

Its been 4 years, hopefully people have gotten over it by now. Wait, no they haven't. But GTA3 was released a little over a month after 9-11, and it was in a NY style setting. Look at SA, it has a huge jumbo jet and big buildings, moving on up. D4 could probably have planes, but I doubt it will have any anyway.

ehh... i dont want PL to have airplanes. if it does, they should only add to the environment, like you could see them in the sky and everything. you could see planes in miami and LA in d1. im glad they took out boats too, they were pretty useless in d3.

of course this is only my opinion. remember that, aircraft people. ;)

I think having the World Trade Center is a really cool idea. I don't think it will affect whether or not they have airplanes in the game. After all, it's not like they are actually going to make the building collapse in the game. I have a keychain on my key ring of the twin towers, and it says the years it was around was 1973-2001.

And it would seem a waste of time to work on features like that. The game should only focus on driving so that it will become one of the best games of next year. And parachutes? No. I think that it too would be a waste of time. The kid has better things to do then crash an airplane, fly a helicopter, or even use a parachute. If the game's going to feature open-ended driving missions then it should stay that way. Aren't taxi, street races, and any other driving missions enough for you? This is what driver should've been about and I'm glad that they went this way. If they did include the ability to fly a helicopter & plane as well as a parachute then it would become a gta game, which Driv3r tried to become and it failed miscerably. I do hope that the focus on their games more than having to listen to what Rockstar North has to say.

How do you know that those are the WTC?

Compare the following to Canadian's picture:

Look at the skyline; no comparison. Also think about the movies on TV they edit the WTC out of movies. For some reason the Twin Towers are still a soft spot to Americans. I'm sure those are just random buildings in those pictures.

In an article it said the WTC would be in the game, at least I think it did. But of course some people could complain, boo hoo, why did you put that building in the game when it takes place before they were destroyed?

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if, when the game comes out, if the WTC is still in it, that they could stop them from selling it until Reflections removed the buildings, which is very childish. I live in America, and these people are nuts.

I don't really see why people are so sensative about the WTC. Yes, we know they were destroyed in 2001 by terrorists, but the game is set in 1978, 23 years before it was destroyed. I hope it is in the game.

I think putting the World Trade Center into the game would be a good memorial for the buildings. I don't know too many people who would protest the building being put in the game. If Atari wanted to, they could put in an easter egg that is really a memorial for all of the people that died in or around the WTC, like a plaque or sign near or on the building that says something like "We Will Always Remember" or "Shall We Never Forget." I think that would be a great idea.

EXACTLY! Future generations won't even know there was a WTC or 9/11, because we can't let our kids know anything bad about the world. Well they're gonna find out sometime. Everything is getting anything resembling violence taken out of it! The WTC NEEDS to be in the game, it was there in 78, and so shall it be in 2006. And on the side of the building, there needs to be a HUGE picture of a middle finger. Do it on both buildings.

Who knows, apparently in the game theres gonna be a guy threatening to jump off a building, and after 9/11 (people jumped out of the buildings cause they had no where else to go) any reference to jumping out of buildings was removed from stuff, I remember a commercial, where the lady said "I'm not jumping", and they changed it to "I'm not pulling my hair out." F***.
