I thought it'd be kinda fun to talk about all of the halloween events that the theme parks are doing. :D

I will be attending Howl-O-Scream at BuschGardens in Tampa Bay. :) We're going to use our other "free" ticket to spend the day, and we're buying another ticket for the Howl O Scream event. We got a "funeral tour" ticket, so we get to skip the lines in the haunted houses and major rides! :D

It'll be cool, plus, It'll be an easy article for the Paw Print(my school newspaper, I can never think of an article to write, I just mainly do the comics. )

So are there any cool halloween events at your local theme park? Or amusement park? Either or?

I find Cedar Point's HalloWeekends to be very enjoyable, and it keeps growing every year. I can't wait until I manage to go for a visit!

In past years, I've been to the Halloween events at Geauga Lake (both pre- and post- Cedar Fair's purchase) and Kings Island. I think Geauga Lake's Halloween events were OK, but not super. I expect them to get better over time. I really got a kick out of the ACE spaceship -- visitors from Alien Coaster Enthusiasts whose pilot crashed their ship at Geauga Lake.

Kings Island's I found to be total inexplicable. They want the guests to walk through the haunted attractions with their hands on the shoulders of the guest in front of them, rather like doing a Conga line or the Bunny Hop through the attraction. Considering the "kid friendly" record of Kings Island, I find it interesting that their Halloweeny stuff is more graphic and intense than Cedar Point's and Geauga Lake's.

As ive mentioned before, alton towers has had to cancel halloween this year, but what they normally do is decorate the park in a halloween sence (skulls, ghosts etc.), have a special attraction called terroe of the towers, in which members of staff dress in halloween costumes, and chase you around the towers. Its great fun. They also keep the park open till 9:00pm (it used to be 11:00pm), and have 5 awesome fireworks and laser displays.

I'm planning on going to Halloween Horror Night at IOA later this month. I have never been to it but have heard about it from friends and seen a show or two on it and it looks sick!

smallprint, 9:00 sure is early for a halloween event to close! Busch Gardens is open until 2:00 AM I think.

My sister went for HHN 13, she said it was awesome.

But do beware, there are a lot of drunks out in IOA(they hand out alcohol everywhere you go, personally, I think it's bad on Universal's part), and you'll have to wait HOURS in lines. My sister said that The Hulk was something around 4 hours long! But on the other hand, Dueling Dragons was just a walk on ride, no one in the line.

I'll actually be working Halloweekends at Cedar Point next weekend for University fund raising (Track trip to LA isn't free :)) but I want to use my season pass one more time before the season is over. I'll be buying one for next year soon. I've never been to a Halloween thing for a Amusement Park before, so it will be new for me.

That's alright, I've ridden Hulk many times so that's not too big of a deal. I'm going there for the houses and the scary stuff, not the rides. Thanks for the warning about drunks too. That is bad on Universal's part.

I think the two best Halloween Events in the US are Knott's "Scary" Farm's Halloween Haunt and Islands of Adventure's Halloween Horror Nights.

But I have to say, Knott's is better. ^_^ They have a huge fanbase and quite a few fansites, but then again, that doesn't determine the better experience, both parks put on amazing Halloween events.

I'll going to SFOG during Fright Fest. Don't know if it's any good, but that's not the reason were going anyway. I've heard it's much better than SFKK's though (which we may or may not visit this year). I've also been to PKI's Fearfest in '03. We didn't do any of the haunts though since we were so tired and the line were outrageous (3 hrs. for a haunted antique car ride).

I just got back from Hal-o-scream at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. It was a lot tamer this year. Not nearly as many characters on the streets, and they didn't put out as many decorations as they did 2 years ago. We still had a blast, even though it rained both days we were there. They do a good job with it though. I'd recommend it! (And DarkCastle was pretty fun too!)

Let me know how SFOG's goes....

I've always liked SFOG's - I probably won't be going this year though.

Hopefully Tampa Bay's is better. I think it will be. While I like Williamsburg's theme a lot better(that Jack o Lantern guy), I like the themes of Tampa's haunted houses and scare zones a LOT better.

DarKastle was pretty lame when I went. 3-d....pfth...c'mon.....

Thats Impossible, considering you can't even go to that section of the park. You can only go to Marvel Island, and Dr Seuss part of the park. Then over to Universal Studios

Just came back from HHN and I gotta say it was amazing! It was very scary, but there were a few cons though. Like YNH said, its very crowded and at some haunted houses, the wait was 2 hours long! Wait times for the Hulk was long the whole night, but some of the other rides were not long waits. This year, both parks were used for HHN which means Revenge of the Mummy was open. The wait time was around 30 minutes so it wasn't that bad. Everyone seemed to be in IOA and nobody was in the Studios.

The houses were pretty scary. Some of the wait times for the houses were not that long. One of them, "Where Evil Hides", was a 10 minute wait. I would say the average wait time for the houses was an hour. They also had a show there, "Bill & Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure", which was hilarious.

Me, my brother and my dad went for the entire weekend. IOA during the day on Saturday, HHN on Saturday night, and the Studios on Sunday. It was a great weekend. The only thing I would do different is not go on a Saturday night so I could do more of the houses. Although it is fun walking around the park and seeing everyone pee their pants! :haha:
