No mention of the PC version, although I'd assume it'll be ported to the PC later.
I'm surprised they've decided to keep this franchise considering the efforts that Uwe Boll made to kill it with his film adaptation *shudders*.

Hey no one here talked about the movie. If the movie was really widespread we'd be ssing alot of falme and insult topics right here.

No, but I know about Alone in the Dark, which was for the nintendo gamecube. I heard that it's a horror game so by any chance I will likely pick it up.

The Alone in the Dark series didn't do so well in the Playstation (1), so I doubt this will do good, until I see some screenshots.

Hmmm...it didn't do too bad either. I ended up in the Atari forums because of AITD 4 and as far as I can remember the majority of the players had it on PS1.
I'm one of those objectable characters who refuse to upgrade their pc every 4 months to play games, long live consoles and their relative low price ;)

I had it for the PS1 and it just wasn't as much fun as I thought. So hopefully this new game does better.

You must be joking. The combined sales of the PC version and PS1 version is almost 2 million units. I guess the reason why there was no sequel was because Darkworks(most of the ex-AITD developers) decided to work with Ubisoft on Cold Fear.
Hopefully the new team will be able to inject something new to the franchise.

I played it on the PS1... almost got the PC (I think) version too.
Excellent game, one of my favorite horror games :)

It just seems like another Resident Evil mimic to me. But I might check out a demo once it's released.

Well that's the problem. AITD:TNN lost most of it's originality after the sequel. If Fredrick Raynol cameback then it's a different story alltoghter.

Not quite another RE. The puzzles in AITD are far superior IMHO

Yeah, but no one played RE4 for the puzzles, nor was it recognized as one of the selling points of RE4. The target audience for RE4 wasn't the type to care about puzzles. In fact, on G4 it was actually complimented for its simple puzzles. All I'm saying is that puzzles for these kind of games will almost never be a selling point, and although AITD had better puzzles it still can't be compared to RE4 on that alone. In fact, I hope Atari takes the route of Capcom and concentrates on the action for a game like this.

Resident Evil 4 took the risk of changing around that series' perennial control scheme and switched the focus to action over walking slowly and carefully rationing bullets. Like Resident Evil 4, the new Alone in the Dark will put much more focus on action, as well as on an intriguing new narrative style.

Even though the new game takes place in modern times circa 2006, for whatever reason, the hero of the new Alone in the Dark will be a man named Edward Carnby, star of the very first Alone in the Dark game
from Gamespot.com
I'm glad they didn't make a new main character. I like seeing how some video game characters evolve as graphic power gets better. I like comparing "Legend of Zelda" Link with "Twilight Princess" Link, and "Super Mario Bros." Mario with "Mario Sunshine" Mario.

Yup :)
I just saw the movie on gamespot, I think this game will totally kick RE4's ass :)
RE4 was a lame action game (in my opinion)
This looks like it'll be an awesome horror action game :)

By all means go for it, I'm already well known for my dislike of RE4 as a horror game.
It's a good action game.
But as a horror game it's sucky beyond words.

Strange because RE4 was scary IMO. And AITD wasn't-- the PlayStation(1) series that is.
