Top Thrill Dragster @ Cedar Point is back up, for the time being, and is scheduled to be in operation the rest of the season.

One word sums up my feelings....

I'm not totally sure, but from what i've heard, something with the engine that tows the cable. They had to order the part from Intamin and have it shipped. Finally got it a week ago and its back.

That blasted Mighty Mouse that runs on the drums in the hydraulics room sprained his ankle. He was heard to say something to the effect of, "Here I come to save the da...whoops! Oh drat, I must now quit, for it seems to me that I have just slipped." The muscles have healed, and his vet has cleared him to start running on the drums again, although he's been warned to quit singing while running as it tends to distract him.

Awesome, I might be there this saturday. I hope to go, I have been to the point in so long. It has been months! Way too long if you ask me. Hey Harpo, do you know when GL closes? Lazy and can't be bothered to look at the website! ;) I am slo trying to plan a trip there with ya, if you would like.

GL is open weekends through October 30th.

Not sure yet what's happening, but trying to pull together a trip to Cedar Point with my fiancee, sister, niece, friend of niece, fiancee's parents, fiancee's cousin, fiancee's cousin's parents, maybe my parents, and any other assortment of friends, relatives, acquaintances, apparitions, alien life forms, or other such entities living, dead, or un-dead as might be interested. I really don't know how all that's going to work out, but we're trying for the weekend of October 22nd.

Then, since I've been to Cedar Point's closing weekend for a whole lot of years, I'm debating if I have the time and money to visit there again for the final weekend. I don't know how that's going to work out, yet, and it'll probably be partially dependent on if that entire menagerie listed above allows me to do all I want to do at The Point for the weekend of the 22nd.

So, the only weekend I'd potentially be available is the 15th, but I've got an online course exam due on the 17th (hope to have it done much sooner than that!) in Human Resources Management, and an in-class exam on the 18th in Operations Management. Ugh.

So, if you want to get together for a trip, May might be the best option -- I'll be taking Spring term off for my honeymoon in April (assuming the classwork doesn't kill me off before then!), so tests and studying won't be an issue!

(Oh, by the way, much to my surprise, that Magnum Force is actually a rather fun ride! I managed to get on it, along with 99 other coasters, on my UK Coaster Cruise this summer. Looks like it could use paint, however.)

Now all you've gotta do is hope that the wind will stay down. When I was there Friday night, I only saw it launch twice, as the wind was kicking in pretty good.

anyways, its good to see it up again from its "mechanical problems" as Cedar Point officially explained as the reason for its down time.

Well, better change the name of the topic. Cedar Point has just announced that, due to mechanical problems, TTD will be closed for the rest of the season. :p

I guess Raptor and Magnum doesnt exist?? There is one good woodie at CP, and thats Blue Streak. If you think MF, TTD, and the woodies is all CP has, your missin out!! :)

Blue Streak actually is very good. I went on it expecting it to be an old almost kiddie style coaster. But I got a ton of air on that thing. I should have ridden it more than once, but we had other stuff to do.

not with the seat belts installed...
and yeah, i forgot those other rides... just didn't like mantis too much... not enough air time....

Blue Streak has had seat belts for as long as I can remember. However, there was a point when the seats and lapbars changed -- used to be one solid lapbar instead of two individual bars. Couldn't avoid standing up on the ride back then!

There is still a way to get awesome airtime feelings on Blue Streak. But, since they "bend" the rules, I'm not saying anything about how! Those who are interested will just have to figure it out for themselves! (insert evil grin here.)
