My dad is going to be going to Grand Rapids Michigan for a car show or something. He said he'll be taking my Uncle and my Aunt up there, along with their Model T. He said that he might rent an RV Camper(or whatever they're called), and take me and my sister up along I-95 and stop and visit some theme/amusement parks along the way.

So I'm asking all of you, what are some great amusement parks you have been to that are close by I-95, or in states such as Ohio, Illinois, Michican, New York?

A list I have compiled from memory only are:

Busch Gardens Williamsburg(We're definately going here)
Paramount's Kings Dominion(My dad said he'd like to go here)
Paramount's Carowinds
Dorney Park
Hershey Park
Cedar Point(We're definately going here too)

Are there any other parks worth visiting? I'd appreciate all comments! :D :)

I'm not a big Six Flags fan, I have no idea where their parks are.

I'll take a look at it. While I have no desire to go to Kingda Ka, I've always wanted to have a try at Nitro.

Thanks! :)

When are you going on the trip? If it's in October, most of those parks are only open Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday. BGW is open all day Friday, so I would visit Busch on Friday and some of the other parks over the weekend.

Holiday World, not sure if it's too far out of your way. But have a great time at BGW!

Six Flags America, which is doing spectacular this year. If your taking 95, SFA is pretty much on it, when 95 turns into the DC beltway all you do is go along the beltway and keep going North and its there right off the DC beltway.

I don't quite understand how some of these places are on your way (you're in Florida, right?). Anyway I reccommend Paramount's Kings Island (<see username;)). It's a really cool park with some great rides. Especially the Beast, 2nd best wooden coaster I've ever ridden. Cedar Point is also a good park, especially if you like record-breaking attractions. I never got to ride TTD though. Although since you don't really want to ride Ka, I kinda doubt you'd want to ride TTD.

Since you're going to Grand Rapids, you won't be far from Michigan's Adventure in Muskegon. It's a small park, about 60 minutes from Grand Rapids, owned by Cedar Fair. Their biggest coaster, Shivering Timbers, is an awesome ride. They have a total of 6 coasters, and a rather nice water park.

If you're going through Pennsylvania, Kennywood near Pittsburgh is a very nice place to visit, with some wonderful old coasters.

A park that's improving since Cedar Fair bought it is Geauga Lake near Cleveland, Ohio. I think Dominator, Big Dipper, and Raging Wolf Bobs (after its major renovation of last winter, prior to which it had really deteriorated into being awful) are wonderful coasters. The huge water park addition should be done for next season, as well.

If you're going from Illinois to Michigan or Ohio, you'll be passing through northern Indiana. Indiana Beach is a good stop, with two really good wood coasters (Cornball Express and Hoosier Hurricane), and a few other neat rides.
