If have have been following the news on the new game Path Of Neo, you have seen that you can change the fate of The Matrix movies by choosing diffrent paths for Neo. I think this game kills all theories on Neo being a Christ like character, as in the Bible it states that Christ was perfect and had to die to save the world and in the movies it did, to a point, give you that impression, along with some Buddism, Hinduism, and a few other religions. I guess Neo wasn't the saviour after all and just a bozo that killed the humans chances of destroying what they created. So now we must go back and change what that bozo did. I am just stating the impression the new game synopsis, that I have read, gives me. Any further comments on this?

just do it :)
anyway, it's interesting, now that I think about it.. there must certainly be a "GAME OVER" occurrence in this game, meaning that Neo can totally fail. I've always thought that he was not really THE one, he was part of the anomally, and one that got to awaken to the highest status, but everyone is potentially the One, as much as everyone is potentially an agent of the system if he/she is not awakened.

Anyone who starts creating Neo/Christ theories is over analyzing The Matrix waaaaaaay too much.

I like the idea that anyone could be the one. But someone had to be, so it happened to be Neo. He was told he was the one, so his subconscious gave him powers that anyone could do if they believed in themselves enough. That's one theory, anyway.
And Christ-like figure? That is one way to interpret what happens at the end of Revolutions. But Christ never really felt like he had a choice in the matter. The Bible says that "God gave his only son" not that the son gave himself. Neo made the choice at the end, so he is a more conscious savior than even Jesus.
(And for the record, I'm a Wiccan and don't believe in Jesus as the son of God, but I mean no disrespect to those who do believe that. This is just a philosophical discussion.)

Umm, no. It's not overanalyzing anything if it is right there in the movie for anyone with half a brain to see.

Who cares? It's just a movie.

Type "Matrix philosophy" into a search engine to see all the people that care.

i started i topic on that subject, but no one answered,i just wanted to repost part of it here for fun...
i wanted to add that i think that Niobe said something pretty interesting at the end of revolution when she gave neo her ship and said that she did'nt believed in the one, that she believed in him.wich leads me to my point,Neo being the only one able to finally get out of the "systems of controls"(like the profecy of the one itself and all the machinations to keep humans in controls)
Neo ,to me ,looks like he does'nt believe he's the one, yeah he can do all those things but theres something '"like a splinter in your mind" he doesnt feel like filling the shoes of the one to my eyes.
maybe that why he could do it,he was not the savior...just a man
with freewill.

Lets get one thing straight, believer or not, Christ was definately not perfect and it does not say ANYWHERE in the bible that he was perfect. In fact the line " Father, why have your forsaken me", doesn't show resounding faith in the guy above now does it.
So in fact, they are more alike than you say. Also, as for "killing theories of him being Christ like", I can't see how you getting the chance to RP as Neo a bit is destroying this impression. Jesus was hailed as the saviour of mankind and from what I gather Neo will still be that at the end, death or no.

this is useless. Why don't you be happy you're playing Neo for once? I mean you complained when we had to play two alternative characters. No body seems to be grateful anymore. Just play the game before you start some complete bs.

It's just conversation. There doesn't need to be a use for it. Besides, nobody is complaining about the game in this thread.

The game doesn't necessarily detract from the philosophy that Neo is christ-like it just gives the gamer chance to fill his shoes and gives them the option to do their own way, which is a great thing as from what i've heard so far the replay-value will be quite large
