so it looks like after a couple boring years of clones and wannabe's we are finally getting what we have been asking for in 2006...some coasters worth getting excited over! so what do you guys think will be the "Best Of" so far? criticism? opinions? and whats lacking there of. speak out!

My Personal Best Of:

Best Themed: Expedetion Everest: Disney's Animal Kingdom
Best Wooden: The Voyage: Holiday World
Best Steel: Goliath: SFoG

You might wanna hold that steel off till we see the layout of Tatsu.

Or

Apocalipsis @ Parque de Atracciones Madrid

Or

Speed Monster @ TusenFryd

Now if it was Best HYPER then yes it would have to go to Goliath at SFoG

You have to admit El Toro is the new pinoeer Woodie for this age. It won't be too soon before I think we start seeing vertical drops on woodies. El Toro bends the limits with its incredibly steep drop with a smooth ride.

But again The Voyage is amazing too, all that air time and... 90* baking, its another great new coaster design of this age.

Here are a few that have caught my attention.

Wooden coasters:
El Toro-SF Great Adventure
The Voyage-Holiday World
GCI coaster-Beech Bend
Thunderbird(GCI)-PowerPark

Steel coasters:
Black Mamba(Inverted)-Phantasialand
Speedmonster(Rocket)-TusenFryd
Superman-Escape(Rocket)-Warner Bros.(Australia)
Goliath-SF over Georgia

Note:Superman-Escape actually opens this Dec.

With more announcements this list should grow.;)

I'm gonna go with the Voyage, since that will be the first one of the new coasters i'll ride.

For me its a Tie between El Toro and Voyage, and don't ask, if you had to choose. I would still say both are amazing new coasters.

I'd love to try the Voyage.. or hell all of Holiday World for that matter... but Holiday World is quite the ways from MI. Maybe next year I can hit PKI and Holiday World, some weekend... man I miss PKI, my homepark... well my original homepark.

i cannot believe no one is stoaked about Expedetion Everest! has anyone bothered looking at the most recent pics submitted on RCDB.com? i think this ride is going to be amazing. Disney is taking theming up to the tenth degree on this one. sure you can make a coaster big tall and fast, then call it a day...but a fully themed ride, beginning to finish? i cant wait!
