1. Montu (Busch Gardens Tampa Bay)
2. Alpengeist (busch Gardens Williamsburg)
3. Superman: Ride of Steel (Six Flags New England)

Although I have not been on many roller coasters (even though I like them very much), I would have to say this is my list:

1. Timberhawk: Ride of Prey (SFWW&EV)

2. Mullohund (sp?) Madness (CA Adventure) (Doesn't hurt unlike most Wild Mouse)

3. Matterhorn Bobsleds (Disney Land)

4. Kiddie Coaster (SFWW&EV) (Most painful ride I've ever been on, that's the reason I like it)

5. None at the moment (Maybe going to Knotts Berry Farm, SFMM, and somewhere else though)

1. Top Thrill Dragster (Cedar Point)
2. Millennium Force (Cedar Point)
3. Raptor (Cedar Point)
4. Magnum XL-200 (Cedar Point)
5. The Beast (Paramounts Kings Island)

Small Print

1: Nemesis - Alton Towers 100/100
2: Spinball Whizzer - Alton Towers (it really is that good ;) ) 93/100
3: Grand National - Blackpool Pleasure Beach 90/100
4: Rita - Queen of Speed - Alton Towers 87/100
5: Air - Alton Towers 80/100

Although it is an excellent ride, rita is just too short, the only real thing that you feel is the launch, which does pull some very high g's i must say.:D

The list may change when i ride oblivion on saturday.

No matter what time of day you ride it, no matter who you're with, rain or shine, X has consistantly given me more thrill than any other coaster, it's just so different.

1. X
2. Goliath
3. Deja Vu

5. California Screamin'

I didn't quite notice this list earlier. Nice list. If I'd only ridden coasters in England or Europe, I'd probably have chosen every one of these, but I've never ridden a coaster outside North America. A B&M inverted terrain coaster? A B&M Mega coaster? The world's first non Superman B&M flyer? An Intamin rocket coaster that rivals or betters Stormrunner? Top it off with a classic woodie racer with PTC cars? I'm envious that I haven't ridden them.

Since blackpool is on my door step, I have ridden the grand national 3 times this year already. A classic coaster but i have to say since the fire and the old coaster trains changed for brand new trians. It does feel better but not like before.

Its very strange, maybe the new trains need a few months to be broken in? lol

An Intamin rocket coaster that rivals or betters Stormrunner?

I wouldn't really say that Rita - Queen of speed does rival Stormrunner, it is alot smaller, slower and hasn't really got any special elements. But... that doesn't always mean everything.

leonardofury
06-17-2006, 11:20 AM
I love Rita for a combination of the speed and airtime on the hills, it's short, but a great buzz.

BTW Soundgodz, Air was the first B&M Flyer, it opened before Superman if I remember correctly. Alton Towers and John Wardley were quite involved in the design process of the B&M flying coaster, so I'd expect they'd want the credit for the world's first 'flyer' (Because Vekoma Flying Dutchmen don't count in advertising ;) ). Glad you appreciate my list though and hopefully I'll get over to america at some point.

soundgodz
06-17-2006, 12:30 PM
I checked RCDB and found that Air opened on March 16 and Superman opened April 6. With that fact, both were under construction at the same time and opened 3 weeks apart. That should mean both were testing at the same time and SFoG could open later than Alton Towers, so there was a later opening for the ride. My statement that Air is the world's first non-Superman flyer doesn't really credit anyone being first, only that of being the first without Man of Steel theming. As for Rita and Stormrunner, I've only been on TTD, Xcelerator, and Stormrunner and of the three, Stormrunner is the one that isn't the one trick pony (I know, Xcelerator has extra 2 banked turns, but the main thing is the 200 foot up and down) so, I compared Rita and Stormrunner, it's all I know.

Well, All the SWs at Alton towers would rank highly. So would the BPB woodies, the Rock rollercoaster at WDW, Duelling Dragons, The Hulk. Don't know the order though.

And rita is great, just need to rid corkscrew & make it fully Boulder Rock Turn and it'll be Wahoo! What A Ride! But without the cheesy sound effects. ;)
