invading planets

How do I invade planets? I build a transport fleet , load it up, sent it in (after winning naval battle) and nothing happens. When I build fleet I do not get an "assult" option. Do I need a technology or something????

how many total TFs do you have in the system, including the transport TFs?

if it's more than 10, that's probably your problem right there.

I think you have to have an enemy around the planet to fight to land troops, Try sending in the troops with the attack, I usually attack with 8 fighting task force and 2 troop task forces.
I think troops only land if there is a space battle first.

i always clear out the system defenders and planetary bases first, before i even let troop ships enter the system.

i hate getting transports popped. :mad:

so, nope, the space battle isn't required to make the invasion happen, otherwise, my method wouldn't work.
