And that woodie is coming soon too... LOL

I guess everyone knew this was coming and I can't wait. Maybe Frontiertown will finally get some people back there and take the line down on TTD. :)

BTW: There is no woodie in CP for '06 :)

I'm shocked at the cotton candy change. That's the park's largest profit margin item.

Notice the park still isn't saying what's happening at the White Water Landing site. It could very well be something remarkable for 2007.

I'm happy with the location they chose. That's kind of a dead zone most of the time. I took a bunch of pictures of that area back in August because of all the construction rumors floating around. Now I'm glad I have them.

However, I'm waiting to hear about the addition of some kind of family attraction for next year. Building yet another thrill ride will certainly not help attendance figures. :bulb:

At one time, there was an ampitheater in the approximate location where Skyhawk is going. (The ampitheater actually was covering part of that space, and part of the Snake River Falls space.) They always had a country song-and-dance show at that theater. I don't recall when it was removed, but I'm thinking it was in the early '80's.

I still don't get next year's additions.

I mean, I love the fact that they're adding a SS, but I'm not understanding why absolutely nothing is happening to the WWL site. Think about it - you take out one of your only remaining family rides, and an original Arrow Hydroflume, to do nothing to the site? Sounds like a pretty bad business decision to me.

Think about it, 2007 is Dick Kinzel's last year as CEO. He's alluded to the fact he wants to go out with a bang. Now you have a nice area all ready to be worked on for A WHOLE YEAR in advance......

If you figure that they're apparently planning on a 2 year construction project for something going in the White Water Landing space, you can expect it's going to be something BIG! In my 36 years of visiting Cedar Point, I don't recall them EVER starting a project that early, so I've really got very high hopes for what's coming in that location!

Your guess is as good as mine. I just want an awesome coaster, regardless of the type. If it's a dueling or racing coaster, that's fine, too, as long as both tracks are awesome coasters.

I do like B&M flyers, so I think that'd be a good choice, but, in my mind, it all depends on the quality of the track layout.

It's funny though, that it is the largest swinging ride in the world, standing at 103 ft., but it isn't the tallest, as it's swing height is 125 ft., were Delirium and maXair's swing heights are roughly 139 ft. Funny how things work out.

Also, it would be absolutely phenominal if we were to receive Flyers, particularly that dueling flyer that Screamscape has mentioned previously.

Swing ride of its "TYPE", not of all swingers.

I know the WWL site is going to be for the 2007 project. But I just don't get why you leave all that area open for a whole year, and lose one of your only remaining family rides in the process.

Also, 2007 won't be Kinzel's last business decision. He'll be gone, but they plan stuff a few years in advance. When Kinzel came in in '87 (I think), the old GM planned Draggin' Iron. His first decsion was Magnum, 2 years later. Think about it.

well, this is extremeley unlikley, but mabe they will buy a 4d coaster from S&S arrow. Chances are 1/100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 that it will actually happen it'd be sweet though

Kinzel is planning something BIG, I can feel it. I have a feeling WWL will be replaced somehow and CP will get a sweet coaster for '07. Mark my words!!

Actually, my understanding is that Magnum's design was started under Mr. Munger, who was the CEO before Kinzel. I was working at the park during Munger's last season, and rumors were already flying about a new huge coaster, being Munger's final project. Sadly, Mr. Munger died about 1 year after his retirement, before Magnum even saw groundbreaking.

While Munger was responsible for such bombs as Tin Lizard and Avalanche Walk (now Disaster Snoozeport), he was also responsible for such things as Demon Drop, Gemini, White Water Landing, and Oceana. I'm not sure if Munger was at the helm for Corkscrew.

I'm not sure.

I thought I saw it on CoasterBuzz that Kinzel's first ride was Magnum, but I'm not sure. I know Draggin' Iron was Munger's, but I'm not sure about after that.

Magnum was the first coaster built while Kinzel was at the helm, but the design of it was started under Munger.

There is another catch, however. Magnum was supposed to be a "pipeline" coaster from Arrow. Cedar Point had invested $1 million into the concept, but, supposedly, decided to switch to a more conventional design after a lackluster 1988 season. The pipeline concept wasn't ready, and Cedar Point felt a critical need for a major new coaster. So, it is possible that Kinzel made the call to abandon the pipeline for the standard coaster.

Alton where looking at aquring an Arrow pipeline too first in about 1990 before Arrow went bankrupt then when they became solvent again it was reconsidered in 1991/2 for construction in 1994. However Alton and John Wardley saw Batman: The Ride and scrapped the idea in favour of Nemesis. Can't say I regret the decision.

mabe...... we will see a 500 ft. tall pipeline coaster, made by vekoma, with a vertical launch, and it will also be the world's tallest rotating resturant!

Also adding on to Harpo (hope u don't mind), Magnum was supposed to be 181 feet originaly. CP then decided to go 200 feet.

When I saw the wood, my hopes raised, but the "big blue thing" was the tarp covering the two top pieces to Skyhawk.

Does anybody else think they might do away with Antique Cars after next year? I'm not saying it's a good idea, that's my favorite car ride. But without WWL as a neighbor, the ride will probably suffer from lower family attendance in the area. Just imagine how much space would be open with both WWL and Antique Cars gone. The pathing in that area could also be simplified. Just a hunch... :p

I'm happy they went with 200ft, what would the Maggy be without that broken 200ft barrier?? :)

They left alot open when talk of a coaster came up on the blog. Most people assumed they wouldn't, bein Kinzel wants to kick some ass next season and head out with a bang. I was a bit skeptical, but I guess thats what the blog was for. Skyhawk is gonna be awesome and will add some life to the back of the park. I'm really waitin for 2007 tho. That will be an awesome season.

The $6 million ride will give nearly 800 rides an hour.
lol, I love it when people believe their own hype. 800 rides / 20 people = 40 rotations.

If you've seen how many times Rush gets out of sync (Thorpe park in the UK) you'll know that the usual rate for an S&S screaming swing is about 15 rotations per hour, and thats if your lucky enough to have both sides working. Get ready for queues!

The swing holds 40 people, so 800/40 = 20 rotations.

So yeah, I think it will happen once the season gets going.
