Why do publishers websites always suck? You'd think they'd try to be selling the game, in which case a good website would do the job better.

Yeah you've got a good point about that and I find it hard to believe that Driv3r's website did better than the game when they should be working more on the game and maybe should release a website like 2 or 3 months before the game is actually released because it would give them a lot of time to work on the game.

the front picture on the site definitely reminds me of racing under the elevated train in that sports car in chicago from d2.

They always have way less stuff than fansites, and they don't host mods or anything cool, don't even have all the videos or pictures they've released. I find publishers sites depressing. Plus on their lists of features for the games, they don't usually mention the cool stuff, just a few things, so right off the bat they're underselling the game. Is that the point of a crappy website, to undersell the game? Get people to get bored of the website and buy the game?

The pic on the website though is definately the kind of pic they need on the cover.

I think it looks fine.

Personally I didn't like the look or the navigation of the D3 site. The art on this new site seems to capture the look and feel of the previous games. And if you look closely, you'll notice the font they are using for the title is the same as what was used for D2. Even though it's only a placeholder page so far, I like the look.

Official sites don't have good enough quality of content. Fansites usually have TOO MUCH content are have typically been rather boring to visit. Fan sites in the last year have started to get better though.

And I think you can download the pictures with Internet Explorer. Firefox seems to have problems with them.

I clicked download on one of the pics, it takes you to a new window with just the picture, so I copied the url of the pic, the numbering system was easy to figure out, so I just made a page with 65 pics, found which ones were new, deleted the others, and uploaded the page to a website I made a long time ago that has nothing to do with the Driver series.

Thats how I used to get around pages that made you sign up and pay to view pics after a certain number, I think IGN used to do that.

yeah, like Driv3rer said, you have to click on the arrow thing and pull it to move the screen shots. if you go far enough down you will get to the pics of the modern city. the cars look amazing.

I think that when TK shoots from the cars that it looks stupid.
Almost whole upper body out of car :rolleyes:
Isn´t it enough if the left arm is outside with the gun?
More stable shooting & driving.
you have a point there....but sliding all the way out is probably better for aiming...and it looks cool to me

I like how the physics look, they look right on, once again. Maybe even better than D3? I love the way the shocks are so springy looking, and when the cars hit eachother, they bounce just right (except when the convertible runs head on into the garbage truck, I'm pretty sure the garbage truck is way to heavy to bounce back that much off a car, even if cars were heavier back then)

It takes a very long time to load on dial-up... it took me 30mins to completely load with the music and all... so my idea is just to leave your connection for 30mins... 15mins for the pl site and another 15mins for the screenshots once you've clicked it... it's quite annopying on dial-up i know...

Its definately worth the upgrade, plus with dsl/cable you can use your phone while on the internet, big plus. Its very frustrating waiting for stuff to download on dial up, thank god those days are over. I have dsl at my parents house, and at my apartment we have cable. Cable is 5 times faster, but I can't really tell the difference, but we still get on demand with it, so we can watch [crappy] movies whenever we want. Why did my friend have to get Starz? Why not Cinemax? Even HBO?

I'm making a major upgrade and my driver site will be up soon... but the only problem is that if Driver:PL isn't going to be on PC... I might end up ditching the site sadly as there is no point supporting it....

Isn't there some sort of new trailer there in the top left corner? Is that for Driver: Parallel Lines? I can't log in OR create an account because the piece of **** won't recognize that I've checked either 'Yes' or 'No' on the part above the TOS.

Why does it ask for Atari Europe members when it's supposed to be on the US site?

Neither the David Bowie song nor the one after it on the playlist will play.

The page is too wide for any 800 x 600 settings.

The flashy menu animations go on way too long.

Yeah the trailer is great. Took like 2 hrs on my dial-up. It shows TK driver a loader and crashing through a wall. The roll over physics are really good. Vans after a jump flip really easy. It shows TK shooting at a helicopter with a sniper rifle look a like, then i blows up. Shows parts of Slinks Strip bar.

Wow. Excellent trailer. This game just keeps getting better and better, I'm loving the construction equipment, can't wait to dive the bulldozer-like thing. This game really looks set to be a hit, I think. Lets hope thats the way it is.

It looks like they also fixed the size of the car for the better. You know how in DRIV3R it always seemed as if Tanner was some kind of giant and the cars he had to get into were miniature cars? Now they finally got the size right, as you can see in the picture.

tell me about it- apparently i was already signed up at the site, so i tried the 'forgot your password' link to find my password and username. They send me an email with this new really obscure password- and don't even tell me my username!
