Duncan has contributed some new short stories to illustrate features in the new Torn Stars mod. We just posted the first one on the Torn Stars (http://www.torn-stars.com) site.
Just look for "The Thin Edge" under Latest Items on the middle left of the front page.
We plan to post a few more between now and the release of Unstable Space.

You mentioned 'some'. How many more? And when?

Hey, thanks for the plug! It's really fun getting back into writing for Independence War, which has inspired me to even more new projects (on top of the work for the mods and the paper model stuff I mean). There are a couple more of these brief featurettes in the pipeline, and one already in the can that hasn't been posted at the site yet, about some of the cool new mining features that will be part of the new content release for Torn Stars. I'm not sure what the release timetable is but look for it soon.
Does anyone remember the crew of the Mylene B. from 'Uncertain Freight'? I really enjoyed writing that story, but I got kind of disheartened after I discovered the Firefly series (trust me when I say I wrote Uncertain Freight long before I'd even heard of Firefly, which I love btw). The crew of Serenity was pretty much exactly the kind of diverse-yet-bonded ensemble cast of characters I had been hoping to portray in my little story. Except Whedon did it so much better, I just felt best leave this stuff to those who really know what they're doing. So I gave it up.
The trouble is that Captain Rudy, Marney, Janeane and those crazy Finnish brothers keep nagging me to write about them. They have stories and adventures that remain to be told. I say this just so you know it's being worked on in the background. It'll be awhile, but its happening.
In the meantime, enjoy these little gameplay featurettes, build some paper models over the holidays, and avoid being swayed by the newest uber-hyped shiny fps. Go back and pay respects to your collection of space sim greats. Reinstall them, replay them, and revel in the joys of blowing stuff up in the vastness of space.

Another great story! I'm really enjoing your storys, not just because they're probably the last I-War fan fiction remaining, but also because they're indeed very-well written and generally enjoyable to read. After all, it's all about careful planning ;)

After finally getting my act together to play the old I-war and Defiance, I've dug out my old Fiction that was part of a Babylon 5 mod I was writing at the time.

Folks,
It may be of interest to know that I've completed My I-War story over at fanfiction.net (http://www.fanfiction.net/~phoenixdfire). I'm managed to work out that 63,000 words in almost a novel.
Boy, are my fingers sore.....

Hey Phoenix that is good news! (and clearly a huge effort!) Consider starting a new thread with a clip from your story. And let Soupdragon know, I bet he would link off his news page.
