Even though I live in a rich African community, there are a ton of Asian students. Most of them are filipino, but there are some Japanese and Thai. And they all play Yugioh.

The ones you think of probably in association of myself, (Drool, wheelchaires, with a eye-seeing dog, deformed, or in some sort of prejudice and stereotypical view of the disabled) only make up 1 percent of the population at my high school. The pictures above represent the majority of people from Lake Taylor High. And trust me there are a ton of asians. I remember one girl from Thailand that was well over six feet tall. Don't everyone say that the meaning of the animes are suppose to give the readers a good story. DBZ keeps repeating the battling bad guys again and again and again. That's a story? It's sick to see over 50 battles throughout the series of DBZ.


And DBZ only protagonist is Goku San (孫悟空). From born to death, he faces very tough opponents, yet none can actually kills Goku.

What would DBZ happen when Goku disappeared and more evil has lurked back on Earth. No peace in sight.


And why would bad guys fight Goku in martial arts, and kung fu? Energy balls and powers, are all supernaturals.

At first, we thought it is in the future, later to be fiction. Sigh! Just fighting wasn't good enough.

And DBZ characters didn't return much.

I feel dizzy just by watching Saiyans' golden hair. It's their fault that made my eyes twitch at the sight of gold.

Nearsightness is my weakness, DBZ is never in my dreams.

I dreamed once, then I acted out. Soon, I was laughed at everytime someone mentions DBZ. I hate it!

Ok then.

I found perhaps the absolute worst Anime of all time. At a $1 store.
Picked up a show called Raiders of Galaxy (yep that's the title).
Now it's not really an Anime, but a true rip-off of popular Anime shows. This one is a rip off of Mazinger Z (Tranzor Z). I think they even used some of the animation from that show. It was made, no stollen by Joesph Lai. Who is pretty infamous for really bad stuff. I suppose you get what you pay for...

Anyways. The dubbing is really bad, they gave a male character a really girly voice, and half of the cast has a British accent. The animation is really bad, all of the spaceships seem to be see-thru. Also the story, if you call it that, is really awefull. There is an evil alien race trying to take over the world. Their president is named President Andrew (not very evil sounding). They mostly fly around in space, in ships that look very similar to the Argo of Star Blazers fame. Also they sometimes fly in a generic looking flying saucer that changes one time into a giant monster/robot.

The giant mecha of the show is called Mazinga 3, and is sort-of a combiner. The only thing is that it only has 3 parts, and the main part is still a giant robot. The only 2 parts that come off are 2 fighter like ships for the legs & wings.
The other thing is that it does not seem very powerful, in fact I don't think it actually destroys any thing.
It just makes the bad guys run away.
The only time that someone dies is the mother of the female pilot of the robot.
Which is handled really bad, and you can see it coming from a mile away.

The show is 75 minutes long, and even then, it drags on way too long.
If you see this film in a dollar store, or any other "Anime" looking DVDs there, avoid them at all costs.

OK then, I did read that Joeseph Lai used Korean animators to copy the styles of popular Japanese Anime.

I think the reason Case Closed got taken off the air is cause they had it on so darn late. They had the schedule of only showing the shows one time back then. So it was something like: Comedy, Inuyasha, Bebop, Case Closed, etc.
Case Closed was on at like 2 AM in some markets. Plus that particular series is really long (I think it's even longer than Bleach, Naruto, or One Piece). Plus they were dubbing it kind of weird. They put out the first season, then they skipped to the 3rd season, then went back to the second season (or something like that). Heck you can't even find any Case Closed DVDs now at a store like Best Buy.

Anyways, another bad anime (Only the way they distributed it): Star Blazers. I mean come on, 3 episodes per DVD? That is really bad, cause this show is like 156 episodes long (all 3 seasons), don't get me started on the VHS versions 2 episode deal. You will lose interest quickly. I hope someday, they do a new version that includes the Japanese version of the show, and has at least 5 episodes per disc.

What's wrong with Love Hina? That show was really fun. Of course I do have a bad habit of liking Harem anime.

Now in the case of Bo Bo Bobo etc. I tried to watch the show. It is really random. What other show can you think of that has a character that looks like they have a "poo" on their head. It did look pretty bad.

Another bad anime IMO is Ceres Celestial Legend. It was way to girly, I guess that is because it was a shojo anime.

Also it's humor may seem strange to the ones not used to it but it's classic echii humor that is very common in anime and japanese culture in general (bulma panty jokes for example...)..although censored from what is shown in usa...cause people are stupid about that kind of stuff here...and don't read the 16+ written in the box but still have to censor stuff...(i'll be honest...you give me the same vibe). And if you read the love hina manga the story gets even more interesting and funny...the second to last volume is still one of the craziest and funniest things i've ever read....you maybe should give it another chance.

Exactly , and i'm not a biased native english speaker like you so why would i consider anime in english an improvement whatsoever from it's japanese form?

I'm against dubbing anything really but because the mainstream viewers can't read , subtitles are out of the question thus we're stuck with either raws or quality-chopping.

And the lack of japanese in anime is really bad because of the americanization of the whole thing...which to an unbiased towards everything american viewer who likes anime as they were meant to be by their creators destroys their worth entirely.

And you are jumping into conclusions here....i loved pokemon anime...same with db and dbz...but i clearly see that both are beneath some truly great anime...most of em not even out in the "great USA anime market".
