I have noticed that some people are asking about logos and certain items in making custom scenery. Okay, as far as the law is concerned where logos are concerned, you may not use them with out the permission of the company that owns the logo. I.E (Burger King) This only applies to you if you intend on selling the logo. They are registered trade marks or protected under the copyright laws of a particular country. Now if you are using them just for your own personal use in the RCT3 community, there is nothing which says you cannot do this:up:

As to privately designed wallsets, again I have not read anything anywhere on the forums saying that you cannot use them. Ethically speeking, it is always a good idea to thank the person or persons you downloaded the items from. It's somple good manors, and it shouldn't upset people.

If you ARE NOT SURE about the useage of logos and or rides, a good way to find out id to ask Frontier about their useage. You can contact Michael Brooks at the front main menu "General Discussion", and to the right is his name: MBrooks. You can send him a personal message and ask him.

The reason I'm putting this post out is because people think their items are copyrighted or registered; and unless you have done this with the proper government agencies, as far as I am aware, a person is not lible to be sued for their useage.

You can check on this at your leasure:up:

Calm down a bit, I'm not trying to offend you or anyone else. I like your stuff and use the timber set more often than the stuff that came from Frontier because it frankly looks more realistic. What I am saying is that if you have something YOU made and corprighted or got it under a registered trade mark, I very greatly doubt that you would like someone else making a fast buck on your hard work. :D

:D Don't see what your nationality has to do with it; my roots go back to England. I think my family was chased out of the country. :D Oh well, you can't have everything! :D

What can BurgerKing, Mc Donalds & Co. have against to have some free advertising in one of the bestselling computer-games.

And BTW: We had the same discussion with RCT2, Sims 1 & 2, Zoo Tycoon, Train Simulator etc. and in all this games no company has ever response about using their logos in this games.

If you think about what you write, it's alos not allowed to build any Disney-Paramount-, Universal-Park because this are also registered trademarks. I build currently a park based on the movies of SHREK, a trademark of DreamWorks SKG.

A small hint for the designers. If you add a "Read Me"-file with a diclaimer, that all logos are trademarks of their owners and that they have nothing to do with the scenery and they don't have payed you for creating the scenery, you are on the right side.

I am not a lawyer, I just read quite a bit, and you can check into these things on the net; or a local library. That is where I get most of my information. :D

Espically if your a Brummy, then pratically every 3 words is slipped in a swear word.

I'm not technically a Brummy, but i do live just outside Birmingham, sue me :P

I think most Americans see us as stereotypes (American Tv), you guys need to watch more British films to understand what we're really like.

Excuse me, but now who's stero-typing? I'm an American and I do not look at any one in particular. I don't want to see anyone get sued or go to jail; but if that's your thing. Enjoy it!

What cartoons are you talking about? Don't watch them that much myself. I prefer James Bond and Sherlock Holmes/Doctor Watson myself! I do watch the English comedy on PBS. God sake, they remind me of me, a bunch of nuts!:D
