I have two .max files from a friend that I really need converted to .3ds or.ase or something that's actualy useful. PM me if you think you could do it please.

Pretty Please?

P.S. Yes, the models will eventualy be for a pack in RCT3, but the pack will not be out for a while so don't get too excited.

I have tried to convert the parts, but I can't convert them to meshes. That's the first you must do. Otherwise you can't export them in the 3ds-format. I'm not very familar with 3DMax (still learning), maybe there is anorther way, but I have really search the whole program, if there is another chance.

Maybe some other could help you too. I'm sorry for the bad news.

I have heard about a tool called accutrans, which should convert any 3dformat in any other, but I didn't tested it.

Is the file format .max? If so you might find some kind of plug in for 3DS Max on the page linked below.

That format seems to be some kind of graphic plug in for 3DS Max named Kinetix 3D Studio MAX , I'm not sure exactly what it is or how it works.

Sorry for my long absence, I had a family emergency to attend to.

Don't you have to get .max files to .ase files to use them in RCT3? I can use an .ase file and change it into 3ds myself if someone could get me the .ase file. That's all I'm asking, really.

Phil: I'll e-mail the files to you. Feel free to use them yourself if you want.

Marnetmar: I tried it. I can't figure out how it works. Then again, they usualy make things like this so complicated you can't use them.

The files from 3DS Max are .3DS format, not .max This is another file type altogether & unless there's some sort of plug in for 3DS Max to import it, then convert it to a 3ds file, it's not going to work.
