The best way to remove the sting from an insult is to insult yourself. By making fun of ourselves, we show that we don't take ourselves too seriously.
I can tell you right now, if we debate the issue of whether this game is a rip off of GTA, we're gonna lose the debate!
Driver may have been the first game in this genre, but there's a pretty clear consensus at this point, that Reflections has taken a few pages straight from GTA.

As revenge for Rockstar having a joke at the way Tanner is animated in Grand Theft Auto 3, Reflections decided to have hidden characters called Timmy Vermicelli , named after Tommy Vercetti from Grand Theft Auto - Vice City, which you had to find and kill.
To add even more insult, Reflections gave these characters inflatable arm-floats to make fun of the fact that Tommy would drown if he went into the water in GTA-VC. (because in Driver3, you could swim.)
The Timmy Vermicellis drown, even with the arm-floats, if you knock them in the water.

R* and Reflections have been poking fun at one another in their games. What do you think ROCKSTAR'S reaction will be to Driver: Parallel Lines?

My suggestion: In the next GTA, there should be a "copy cat" killer who copies the criminal acts of their lead character. Maybe the copy cat's name could be something like, "The kiddie" They could refer to him as "that kid" who's coping everything their character does. Maybe even write it into the story line.

I know some of you can come up with a lot better. Let's see what you've got!

This is off-topic, but I figured more people would see it here...

Luvmygames, you were right about this thing being a GTA cone to the bone. I got it today, and... wow :D. Just thought I'd mention it.

I hope you don't mind LoXodonte, but I have to quote you here from another thread. I think what you said was hilarious!Ok, now you can't deny the GTA comparisons. I wouldn't doubt that Reflections inside joke with "Parallel Lines" is that it closely parallels GTA.ohh, that's a burn! :D
