but in other back on topic, i think that the aston martin has the absolute coolest gauges ever. They would be equal to Rolex's of car gauges.

Uh, no I don't mean that. While I'll admit it *is* a completely different engine, the Vanquish V12 shares a bunch of design elements with the Ford (mazda) Duratec 30, introduced in 1996 in the Ford Taurus/Mercury Sable. It shares the same bore and stroke dimensions as the Vanquish V12.

lol, it's not so much the V12-Vanquish I have a problem with as much as the sound of the engine, and driving around in the DB9 instead isn't exactly going to fix that, is it?

The DB9 uses the same V12 as the vanquish.
Im not sure what your on about the engine, but it is two mondeo engines made into one v12.
This makes me wonder if you have heard a Vanquish in real life? Are you talking about the sound in the game?? I have yet to hear an audio clip of the Vanquish or DB9.

....jesus christ. This may be one of the most ignorant post ive come across.
You do not but a Vanquish to go racing. You buy it to travel from LA to Vegas for example surrounded by luxury. Try doing this same trip in an M6 and I almost garuntee you will be sore and tired from your drive, while the Vanquish will keep you refreashed and comfortable.
A BMW M6 is a fine sports car, but its not a GT Car sucha s the Vanquish. The M6 competes with the Porsche 911, and Maserati Gransport. The Aston competes with the Continental GT, and 612 Scalgetti Ferrari.

No, I have never heard a Vanquish, but on two occasions (in the same week) I heard two DB9's.
Anyway, do you even know what a Ford Mondeo is? It's a European version of the Contour. The Mondeo has used a variety of engines, ranging from the 1.8L Zetec I4 to, dare I say it, the 3.0L Duratec V-6 - the same engine used in the 1996-2005 Ford Taurus.

I know it uses that engine. Im arguing that they dont sound like ****, in Aston Martin form.
The Mondeo is also the basis for the X-Type Jaguar.
A vantage is much better looking than the vanquish and half the price.
It's also the same price range as an M6.........although you can still get a 911 for less than both those.
Astons are beautiful cars, but if you were to say I could only pick between Aston Martin, Bentley, AMG, M, etc. I'd be torn in making a decision.
All are beautiful cars, yeah even the Bangle bimmer. ;)
I'd still really, really want a Bugatti Veyron. I just love Bugattis. My grandfather used to race them in New Zealand.

The new Bentleys are VWs in drag. They lost their appeal in my opinion. Thank God BMW bought Rolls Royce.
Funny, because overall out of Maybach, Rolls Royce and Bentley, Bentley is leading sales-wise and the Conty GT is fairly popular.
The new Roller's have been criticised by being too ugly and the Maybachs by looking too much like an S Class.

Have you ever been inside of a 911???? A 911 is one of the harshest rides out there. I have been inside of a 650I, M5, M3, and countless other BMWs. They do not compare to the seating inside the aston. if you can afford a car like this, i highly doubt you care about gas guzzling.:weird: The M6 has a firm ride, its a sport car its suppose to, the vanquish how ever has a softer suspension.

Hmm lets figure our why bentley is leading in sales shall we???
Bentley Continental GT, cost about 180K, a Rolls Royce Phantom Cost 350K, and a maybach cost 400K for the 57,the 62 cost 500K. Hmmmm.... Not to mention how many CGTs are made a year compared to Maybachs and Phantoms.
And your point is...? Maybach and Rolls Royce haven't diversified their range as well as Bentley?
Irrespective of vehicle prices, all three makes are in the same league and Bentley has the better cashflow.

I love that Ford owns Aston Martin -- and Aston Martin wouldn't be around without Ford owning them, just so you know. Ford finances the brand. Also, you wouldn't see the same designs you see on the Aston Martins if Ford didn't own them either because Ian Callum wasn't hired until after the Ford buy-out. There's also a lot of J. Mays Audi-esque influence in the car -- good clean design.

You sound very intelligent coming in here and saying "yo" ..
British cars don't suck, and I doubt you own any BMW, let alone a M6. And, if you did, I wonder how you acquired this car with the level of intelligence you've showcased here. So, can you really comment? And before you say, "how do you know that British cars don't suck?" -- it's because I own a Jaguar XJ6 and it doesn't suck. I've had less problems with it than my friend has had with his Honda Civic.
I further wish that the V-12 Vanquish didn't sound like two Ford Tauruses.
It sounds great and sounding like a Ford Taurus isn't a bad thing. The Duratec is a superb motor that loves to rev.

If you're going to be a German fan-boy, you could at least pretend to have a shred of intelligence. Your grammar is terrible, your punctuation is random when present, and your logic is looser than a dimebag ***** working the red light district. Overall, your posts are more full of male bovine fecal matter than a politician during a campaign season.
The only real fact in your post is about the gas mileage of the Vanquish. While I didn't bother looking it up, people who can afford a Vanquish can probably buy massive shares in oil stock too and probably don't care about how much fuel it consumes or how much they spend to power it.

Actually, it does matter. Jaguar's X-Type was not as successful due to high influence of Ford parts. Aston Martin could take the same deals with Ford if Ford is interested.

At least compare seating to the same class.
Astons are built with pure luxury in mind.
6-Series aren't made with the same precision and M-models are not about luxury.
BTW, the M6 already competes with the late Maranellos, and Gallardo.

Jaguar's X-Type was a mistake on Jaguar's management -- Ford finances the PAG brand, but it doesn't dictate everything the individual companies do. I'm not saying Ford didn't want Jaguar to have higher volumes of vehicles sold - however - Jaguar chose the approach. (They chose the wrong approach - not even Jaguar itself denies that.) And, if anything, Ford has improved Jaguar -- even though it might not seem that way. I guess that the pre-1989 days of Jaguar before Ford bought them are easily forgotten. Jaguar made some very dull, uninspired, boring cars during the mid 1980s. They simply weren't the inspired Jaguars like your E-Types of the 1960s ..
Jaguar's X-Type wasn't a failure because of Ford's parts. It was a failure because it failed to be a Jaguar. A Jaguar simply can't be entry level like your 3-series BMW. Jaguar owners don't want to be entry level. That's the first rule that Jaguar broke with the X-Type. The proof of this lies in the S-Type, XJ, and XK .. sales were relatively good on all of the models. And, guess what -- they have Ford parts bin items in them. Also, the Aston Martin even has Ford parts inside. It's just part of making efficient cost structures to build cars. Borrowing parts from other models isn't a bad thing. It's a good thing .. as long as a) the part is well-designed b) the execution is tasteful and well-integrated.
In 2002, Jaguar decided they wanted to become a volume-type brand like BMW, and they've figured out that they simply cannot preseve their brand image with entry level cars like the Jaguar X-Type. The X-Type simply wasn't enough "Jaguar" and now it has somewhat tarnished the brand image. Jaguar is working hard to renew its image and has set its focus to building "fast, beautiful cars." The Jaguar XK has been a good start, but Jaguar needs to ramp up the excitement for their brand. As a Jaguar lover and owner, I hope they get back on their feet soon.
As far as Aston Martin, Ford controls a lot of aspects of Aston Martin but they still let Aston Martin be Aston Martin. By the way, you know that the 4.2L V8 in the Aston Martin is built in Cologne, Germany and it's a Ford motor right? It's the same motor you'll find in the Lincoln LS, Jaguar S-Type, etc. Like it or not, you wouldn't see such an advanced motor in the new Aston Martin if they didn't share structures with other Ford / PAG products.
