Its an amazing car, the reason you think its ugly is because it has some of the best aerodynamical features, thats what makes it go so fast - 253.37 MPH in fact.

Not to be a smarty pants but it's actually 253.37, a speed only topped by one other car in it's class, that being the 1988 cheverolet corvette sledgehammer with a speed of 254.7 mph at Ohio's Transportation Research Center test track.

Yeah, but the Bugatti's top speed is electronically speed limited.

I know we like to use MPH here, but I believe thats around 407km/h.

I'm just waiting for Koenigsegg to release a Competition Coupe with a couple tiny modifications, allowing it to best the Veyron's top speed.

Bugatti makes it... At the moment, they're owned by the Volkswagen Group. So if you wanted to classify it, it would probably be a German car.

I'd regard it as being German, forgive me if I'm wrong but it was an original concept by the head of VW/Bugatti. He set the criteria of the car = 250mph, 1000 bhp minimum, easy to drive,etc. He apparently also set some amazing criteria for the design of the VW Phaeton. He comes up with the ideas and his designers/engineers get the headaches in trying to solve them, but I really wish I had his job.

Classifying cars by who owns their companies will only bring arguments.

A manufacturer is classified by the company in which they build the cars. Bugattis were built in France, much like the Veyron right now.

The people who played the game reported no Bugattis to be seen.

Most likely DLC in the near future. Can't blame Atari though. They'll need to spend the money to get a hold of a Veyron and record it.

Good.. then I can embarass them with something slower.. little ten-year-olds don't know how to drive. And yes, I mean in a game.. a good driver will stomp all over people who are just driving the "fastest" cars.

I have a feeling the Bugatti, if it's present, will be one of those cars you really have to master. You won't be able to just get in it and win every race, unless you only drive it on the interstate.

Yeah, it probably could. But I doubt anybody would dare try it, and it's certainly not a production car.

That's ridiculously stupid because no one is going to buy a $200,000 Viper.

Dodge will never do it anyways because they're already in development for the 2008 Vipers (no 2007 models), and a650Bhp model.

The Koenigsegg CCR is still the fastest road car in the word. 242MPH + top speed. Bugatti has only said that the Veyron will go 253.37. I dont think that they have really tested it yet. So the koenigsegg is still king!:up: :up:

Yes, the Veyron is the fastest. It has been tested by a magaazine reporter at 253mph. This was an offical test, and it's in the guinnes records.

The Koenigsegg didn't even beat the McLaren F1 or the Dauer 962LM. The CCR pulled 388Kph officially. Unofficially, though it was even recorded in a video, the McLaren hit 391Kph. The Dauer, an early 90's car had them both at 404Kph.

And yes, the Veyron is the fastest. 253Mph is it's current speed for now until Bugatti develop tires that can take the speeds.

The Bugatti Veyron is electronically speed limited to 253MPH too. I don't believe it would have much trouble with a Keonigsegg in a straight line.

thats only about 10 MPH faster then the koenigsegg. i think it would be a fair race!

No, unofficially it did not.

The CCR reached 388Kph. McLaren has video proof of their car hitting 391Kph.

I don't know KPH... but I do know the fastest speeding ticket ever recorded is held by a Koenigsegg CCR... 242MPH.

Quite frankly though, at those sort of speeds the speed of the car matters less and less, while the ability of the driver matters more and more.

That is true.
A car going that fast needs a amazingly good driver.

So do you think we should settle this Segg .VS. F1 on the RUNWAY?

A "production" McLaren F1 (if you can call it that), has a top speed of 231 MPH, restricted by a rev limiter. The fastest speed recorded by a McLaren F1 was in the XP5 prototype, and it was 243 MPH (or 391.1Kph) - not a production car.

It was still counted because the XP5 is actually street legal, and the '93 F1s were the same thing, but without their rev limiters and a different set of tires.

You guys sound so silly debating small amounts of speed. The Veyron wins hands down but that doesn't make me want it more than a Porsche GT, the Gallardo or the upcoming Audi R8

I have been at the BUGATTI factory when they built the eb110 and it was located in modena, Italy. Even the factory was beautiful:D
