:( im kinda disspointed because it sounds like the stupid Z-items are returning for Custom characters, where it adds certain points to certain stats...I was looking forward for a Budokai 3 type system where you actually build up the characters stats by fighting and training...... it looks like most people are gonna find a lack in replay value again :( but as for me......I'll still play it until the next game after this........

wait what about z-items? what are those exactly were they a new thing to BT1? if so what are they cause i never really played BT1 except for 30 minutes of split screen confusion followed by 1 martial arts tournament of confusion

I liked Tenkaichi's Z items better.
it's such a chore manually training characters.

Budokai Tenkaichi's Z-Item system is foolish and unbalanced. I prefer Budokai 3's system.

All I now is Z-Items are the easiest way to get to level 140 easily.

In B3 you actually build up the character, lets say up to level 99....in Tenkaichi that feature was gone, to make characters faster or stronger you equip them with a Z-Item called Speed +5, KI +5, Guard +5, Attack+5...etc Z-items also replace the traditional capsules, there is 7 slots to put in the Z-items, so basically in B3 you have to work hard to get a fighter up to level 99, in tenkaichi it can be done in less than a minute with no fighting experence at all by adding Z-items, its kinda hard to explain but I want B3's system instead of BT1's system....

I did enjoy building up my character in B3 a little more than in BT...but the system in B3 sometimes got on my nerves...it was said that you could "customize" each character, but really you just had to decide which skills each person would or wouldn't have...Like with the seven slots, if you wanted Goku to have SS4 as an ability, he would have to have kaio-ken, SS, SS2, SS3, and SS4 to be able to do it, leaving little room for attacks...Then it made fusions very frustrating...Your starting character would have no abilities at all, and then you would have to try to defend yourself to power up without any attacks, and then try to perform the move successfully...then unless you were vegito, you hardly had anytime to fight as the fusion character.....Of course it followed the show that way in being hard to peform some fusions or transformations, but it made it little or no fun trying to play as the fusion characters or sensu bean characters like Mecha Frieza or Metal Cooler....With BT's system you got to keep all of the attacks and everything, but just make your character stronger or faster...with B3's system, you had to make annoying sacrifices alot of times

The password system I like bu t the z item have its advantages and its disavantages. The z items were nice because you could ugrade you basic states so that way you would have an asome character. The bad part was there is no way that you can make your charcter unique by which of move set.For example Vegta in B2 had a vartiey of moves like ki speed ki vollley..In BT you can't do that you can't add new moves and that is a bummer. So this z item system has its positives and negtives.

ah i see the capsules of old budokai i kind of liked except you only had 7 slots. the new just give them stats system sounds too watered down and i would like the old system except add more slots or maybe fuse the two together.

i agree with NY_Realwheelman, i think they should keep b3 system and just add more slots to make so u can, like goten+trunks said put in kaio-ken, ss1 ss2 extra, and still have room to put the moves u want in, how many i dont no, but i think thats the way it should be.

actually the z-items arent THAT bad because it gives more of a chance for the weaker characters to fight. so if u like playing as krillin and ur fighting LSSJ Brolly, u can beef up krillin enough to stand some chance against Brolly.
they can add this and the system like in B3 being able to alter ur skills and power at the same time.

yea, thats the good side of it, but it would be cool if they did add both systems into the game, but odds are is that their not going to.

well id be happy if they include ALL the attacks into the character allready instead of just using 3.

yea that would be cool, but their not going to just give it to u like that, your going to have to unlock it like "breakthrough". which in term gives u all their move sets.

I liked the idea that you didn't have to unlock attacks. I liked it better that you had all the attacks, so you could learn them all immediately and not have to memorize little by little.
I also loved the Z-Items. It made winning a lot harder when every stat was almost at max.

I am going to not make any predictions. Before Tenkaichi came out, we thought stuff that Ryo Mito didn't intend for us to think. It was a bit different then what we actually thought was going to appear. So give it thought that you may be interpriting stuff wrong.

thats true good point
Yo i would love to bring this up to everyone.Ive been plying dragonball z from since snes but have anyone played shin budokai if you did reply to me. I think the way they do super kamehameha in shin budokai looks way better than how budokai tenkaichi specials looks. The way Goku does kamehameha in budokai tenkaichi looks very weird and the way it looks like in shin budokai. it looks like as soon as he let it go its going t o cause so much damage because its so big dam.
Who a grease.
I want the special in budokai tenkaichi 2 to look the same as in shin budokai because it looks so hot. i want them to put the special super huge.
Who a grease.reply to me quickly.
Because where the one who is the game /
make a stand.

I liked the capsule system better, to me half of the Z-Item stats didn't even do anything noticable when I boosted them up, and to earn Z-Items you had to play that horrible story mode over and over again. I'd preffer the old capsule system, but don't put transformations on it, keep those seperate as part of the character, that you can unlock as you progress through the game.

it was a direct port of B3 except for the whole super move thing. when u used a super move there was no cutscene so it was easier for the opponent to block or evade the damage....yet it was still awesome to pull off...
