DRP's Ambience: A new generation of Lightz!

DRP's Ambience

Ok, we all know that my Lightz were nice and all, but they were definately a pain to use. They caused a lot of flickering, and were very difficult to place and delete. Now, however, I have made a brand new, entirely different set to remedy this. The set is called DRP's Ambience.

The most noticeable part of this set is the fact that the lights are no longer tiny little golf balls that are next to impossible to see. They are now wide disks that can be placed inside holders for an extremely realistic effect. The holders can be attached to both the floor and the ceiling, and the light fits perfectly inside, as seen here.

But DRP, you say, won't the attractions look ugly with these lights sticking out? Well, you might think so, but no. The lights are actually, if place well, rather unnoticeable.

However, I understand that some may prefer the old lightz because they are hardly visible. For this reason, I have decided to make DRP's Ambience into a separate set.

You can install it and keep the old lightz if you so chose. All of the colors from the original lightz are back as well as one new color, the gold light.

Notes


Some lights do not show up as well on certain terrain. There is no way to fix this. For example, on the grass, blue does not show up very well.

For Best Results, try to place your lights in corners, they light a greater area, while remaining hidden much better when placed there.

One idea I got while chacking these out. If you rotated the base and lights so they are 90 degrees to the ground, It would make a cool decoration on walls and such. But then again that would be a whole new set.

The reason it is so hard to delete the lightz is because they are too small to see at normal draw distances. You have to zoom in really really close to be able to see and delete them. The purpose of this set is to eliminate that problem. These lights are large enough to see and delete at normal draw distance.

Looks great! I finally have something to make queue line and park path lights with! However, I'm going to keep the Lightz too since I like to place them higher in the air to light up buildings.

DRP, one thing, that if you are only using DRP's Ambience for less flickering and easier placing, just place them underground, as they still show up bright even under the ground.

I just noticed something wicked:

They do flicker less than your orginal lights, but if you bring them really close together, as in as close as possible, while still in separate squares, going in a line down a tunnel with track in it, it has the same effect as a spinning tunnel. Like on the first lift in WDW's space mountain. It looks almost exactly like that, but slower.

Okay. This is really weird. Is there anybody else who is having trouble wit this. (ANd I don't mean to bring back an old thread, but...) The ambience work fine in my game, but they only LGIHT UP GRASS! No on e could really help me wit this before, so...how do I get the lights to light up walls and scenery? It's confusing me greatly.

OK I downloaded it, Extracted it to the Themed Folder. I also have a copy of it in another place. Whenever I want to use the lights, I click them, and I get this message : No : svd for :sid

I have been trying to download this set, but I have been having alot of trouble. I have tried to download it at rctrevaluations, and this is a list of what happens: I click on the download button, then a little window comes up that says "do you want to open or save this file?". I click the save button, then another window comes up that has the drp ambiance in it. I click on the extact all files button,and the so called "ectractor wizard" or somthing comes up in yet another little window. It then has me pick a place where I want to "extract" the drp ambiance file to. Where shold I extract it to?

Hoever would help me I would appreciate it!:)

when download an exe file download it to your desktop and move the folder in to your style/theme folder in Atrai and to remove it full go to your add & romovie program and look for it romove that way hope this help.

rctrevalations doesn't work for me at all.. it says I cant start a new download till I finish my old one.. I don't have an old one going.

I have done everything from clearing my cookies out to resetting the ip address for the cable modem and I keep getting the same error.

To help you out, the set is also availiable for DL on Vodhin's site.

Just go to the link on his signature and go to the CS downloads section. There, set up the list by author of the cs in ascending order, and scroll down a little and you'll find DRP's Ambience set.
