Ther is something REALLY important that i have to do in RCT3 today, buti have HUGE problem. I've downloaded many custom scenery sets, and belive me, i know how and where to install these sets. some of the sets dont have any problems, but certain peices from other and sets, and some full sets of custom scenery do have problems. The error message "no svd for: sid" comes up. yes, i know that it means that a file is in the wrong place, but how can that possibly be if im putting it in the right place?!! ive read all the tutorials to make sure if im doing anything wrong, but i'm downloading and extracting the files in the right place. i have re-installed the files, but it is just the same. in fact, i've even re-installed the game 3 times!!! :( Also, another error message sometimes comes up saying something roughly like "some particles missing." I think im gonna cry if I don't get this fixed, so please, someone help me out. The more opinions the better.

electroapple25 - go into your RCT3/Style/Themed folder and take a look at each of the files in there. If you double click on the first one, it should open to show two OVL files, plus a folder that contains the object files. Check each folder in your "Themed" folder to make sure they are set up like that.

I'm using shyguy's Expo 3000 set as an example, although I never had a problem with it.

An easy way to tell is to find the folder containing the actual individual object files and click on one to see address...it should look like this:
C:\Program Files\Atari\RollerCoaster Tycoon 3\Style\Themed\shy-Expo 3000 Set

Sometimes what you'll find has an address like this:
C:\Program Files\Atari\RollerCoaster Tycoon 3\Style\Themed\shy-Expo 3000 Set\shy-Expo 3000 Set

Notice how shy-Expo 3000 Set is listed twice? You need to remove the extra folder. It's simple to do.

Copy and paste the two OVL files (style.common.ovl and style.unique.ovl) PLUS any other folders holding individual object files also shown next to them onto your desktop. Then delete the folder they were in.

Go back to your "Themed" folder, Double click on the shyguy-Expo 3000 Set . If you've deleted enough folders, that one should be totally empty. If it is, then move the two OVL files PLUS any other folders holding individual object files back in.

Once you see the two OVL files and the individual object folders in front of you, check the 'address'...see if it's the correct C:\Program Files\Atari\RollerCoaster Tycoon 3\Style\Themed\shy-Expo 3000 Set

Hope that helps...

You're very welcome Scotty88, it's very hard to explain how to fix it, but once you do it a time or two it's pretty easy.
