Our local Six Flags park would have been Six Flags Atlantis. It was a water park that opened in 1982 and was gone 8 years later and turned into a shopping center. About a half mile up I-95 from there was Malibu Grand Prix, which added in a skycoaster to it's arcade, go cart and mini-golf tracks. In the late 90s they undertook construction of the Dania Beach Hurricane just as the park became Boomers. Before and after Atlantis, the nearest Six Flags park is SFoG. But Orlando and Tampa are closer.

Six Flags Over Georgia. I was born in the metro Atlanta area. My family went the first year it was open (1967). I haven't made it there every year, but I plan on going more often (especially since Goliath).

A park that is closer to me currently is Paramount Carowinds. I haven't been there yet, but I'm looking forward to it since my company is selling one day passes for $24.00 and season tickets for $49.00. We also plan on going to Dollywood this summer.

That's funny, every time I've been there, every Latino in the tri state area had invaded. It felt just like Miami. And for clarification, would that have been June 11, 2003? That's the last time I was there. If not, then I suggest to you that "every Jewish person in 5000 miles" wasn't there. And I know PLENTY of Jewish people who have never been to Great Adventure, and they live at the shore!

You live in central Florida and have a bunch of coaster options even without a six Flags park. More than us in south Florida.

Luckily, none.

Instead, I'm fortunate enough to have Cedar Point and Michigan's Adventure (both Cedar Fair parks) as my closest parks. If I stretched out a bit farther, there'd be Geauga Lake and Canada's Wonderland. A bit farther still would bring about Wyandotte Lake (pathetic park, currently Six Flags, but soon to be sold to the neighboring zoo), then Kings Island. Well, come to think of it, Fun Spot in Indiana is closer than Wyandotte and Kings Island, but Fun Spot is a very tiny park. There's also Indiana Beach.

If I were to be remarkably desperate and seek a Six Flags park, the closest would be either Darien Lake (with cutting through Ontario), or Great America. Kentucky Kingdom, formerly listed as the 2nd worst park of the 181 I've visited (but the worst park didn't reopen for 2006, as I understand it), would be the third closest Six Flags park.

Closest SF park to me is Darien Lake, which SF bought in about 1998 or so. DL is about an hour & a half from me. The closest small park would have been Roseland, that was just minutes from my home, but that closed in the late 80's, so I don't remember much. :(
Then there is The Great Escape, which is owned by SF.....more than a couple hours from me, have never been there.
Other close parks are Seabreeze - about 45 minutes or so, and stretching a bit further is Cedar Point (want to go, never been there), and also Kennywood (which I may get to visit this summer for the first time!). These last 2 parks are about 5 hours from me.

I actually had to look this up on their website, I haven't checked the exact milage but it is either Six Flags Great America or St Louis. Not sure which one.

I went to St. Louis once a long time ago at that time it was not impressive at the time not sure how it is today. If I am ever in the area I may consider going but it woudn't be somethign I would make a trip to do.

I have never had time to go over to Great America when I have been in the Chicago area.

Mine is SFKK too at about 1.5 hrs. PKI is about the same distance away. Not that I don't like SFKK, but I like PKI better as a home park.:p

Hopefully whatever SFKK is getting next year will be a good addition, lately everything they've gotten seems to be something either PKI or HW already has. They haven't really differentiated themselves from the competition lately.

Wild Waves & Enchanted Village. Owned by Six Flags but not good enough to put there name officially on it. Only themepark in Washington unless you count fairs and the mini park by the Space Needle. They dont have very fun rides eaither, but it's still a fun place to go.
