Hey John Cena, it seems we both have a good idea today to share with the community
Okay, so there are two specific factors that make the Driver series special
1: Director Mode
2: Fantastic car-damage modeling
I just thought that for the next Driver game, since PS3 and 360 will allow new and better things, why not bring the fantastic damage-modeling to the on-foot mode? I dont think I need to explain this any more than I already have.
(oh yeah, and because of the new technology I finally agree that there should be boats, helicopters, trains etc.)

Great idea with having a damage modeling for the next Driver game and have it be part of the on-foot. I agree that it should be like this. Since Stuntman, Reflections has been really adding a lot of realism for the game and D3 really had a lot of it that made the game great in some ways. I couldn't agree any better with this kind of idea as this would really set the realism factor and have it surpass a lot of that as we've seen in other games. We should really see the real way that a person could get hurt or killed in this game.
As for Film Director, it couldn't get any better with this feature as the more great things that we're able to do with the next Driver game, the more spectacular things there are for us to create footage that goes beyond any of what we've seen in any of the other games today. Fantastic ideas Yackemflaber and I hope that these ideas will greatly impact the Driver series.

Yes indeed and hopefully we'll be able to come across more and more ideas that'll make Reflections closer to going above Rockstar North's standards.

Yeah, more realism to the characters. I can imagine it will take twice as long to make a realistic game with all the new tools at Reflections' disposal.

it would be sooooo sweet to get shot in the leg, see part of my pants rip off, and watch my character stuble to the safety of a car or something like that. And thanks for the posotive feedback, everyone

Or even if the character's leg went flying off after being shot with a shotgun. Lol. That'd be funny watching it fly.:haha:

I want it so that if you get shot in the left arm, your left arm is paralized. Just like in real life.

The one thing I really loved in D3 was when you crashed with your car Tanner's ''life-o-meter'' went down a bit =)
Nice idea btw,Yackemflaber!
Wait, so if you get shot you start limping around? That's not fun at all! Especially if you're desperate to escape a firefight and every shot brings you down to a snail pace. Not to mention how strange it would be to see you suffer horrendous physical injury in one mission, and suddenly have all your limbs sewed back on for the next mission. We've seen it all before with Soldier of Fortune 2- that kind of dynamic brings absolutely nothing but frustration.
Imagine if you total your car in a park after a firefight. You could spend arguably up to 20 minutes hobbling over grasslands back to a road to nick another car. It's just as dumb as having personal health go down during a car crash like Undercover mentioned. I'm sorry but I don't think its a good idea in any aspect.

That kind of thing shouldn't be included, that would take away the fun factor!
You should get hurt, still in a realistic way but not in a way like that.

yeah, I was thinking about it longer, and thought it could be something like Resident Evil where your still able to walk and stuff, just slower or whatever it shouldnt be ENTIRLY realistic

This would only be suitable for a War game because that's usually what happens to soldiers in real life so I do hope that we see a lot of this in a war game much like Call of Duty 3 or Medal of Honor: Airborne.
No, we SHOULDN'T see more of this in war games, that's what I'm saying here- It was tried in SOF2 and was downright enraging. It's something that games of any kind should stay well clear of.

Well I guess you're right about that brok. I played the game too and you're referring to Soldier of Fortune 2: Double Helix right? Well I didn't play the game, but I did get the chance to play the demo of it and I really was impressed with the game. It looks funny how you blast people's body parts of and you can see a person's intestines. Anyways, I think that it shouldn't be seen in games unless they're rated M or AO because that's more gore than you'd expect to see in any game. Even Resident Evil doesn't have that much gore and violence.

2: Fantastic car-damage modeling
If I were a game company, like Reflections, I would want to know more on this subjet. How fantastic is fantastic? Do you want cars to crumble into a ball if there hit from all ends at the same time with 18 wheelers?
The best idea I can hand to Reflections on a gold platter is for them no to rush any of their games. We are all patient gamers who are willing enough to wait for the game.
We should really see the real way that a person could get hurt or killed in this game.
As much as this sounds like a briliant idea, I will have to concur. Since we all know that Driver is a driving game, to much on foot realism could have the gamers change their look on the game it's self. I'm all for it of course, but we have to remember that this game was originally based around driving a car, not being on foot. Even though Reflections had added on foot content to it's recent games, doesn't mean we should think otherwise about the series.

Never saw this thread before. So basically what you're saying is in an explosion, Tanners leg should get blown off so he has to hop around on the other?

Damage modeling for Tanner... It would be a neat extra cheat, but I want Tanner in one piece, unless this thread is referring to the criminals.:D

if you did totally realistic damage your car would get totaled after one crash, and yes it would be awesome, but downright frustrating. Would be cool if there was an option for that stuff, such as getting yoru limbs blown off and one crash wrecks just in real life. it would be too difficult in them issions though. And if u want limb dismemberment, play true crime new york city(lol) u can blow peoples heads arms and legs off with high caliber weapons, plus u can lose some limbs as well(try walking on one of your own land mines)Very fun. =)

Yes. It'd be so hilarious and maybe they could do a cheat like more Gore found in the GTA games so that whenever they shoot you in the head, your head would just tumble off. Also, there could be an invincible cheat so that you can still walk around with a missing part of your body.

Wow that's a great idea Yackem. If any of you guys have played Metal Gear games, they did it pretty well. Shoot a guard in the foot, he cant walk. Shoot him in the right hand, he cant use his gun. Shoot him in the head, he falls down and bleeds a LOT (Head injuries tend to do that) Shoot him in the... Private region, he keels over and dies. Really great system. I didn't even think of that. And I would have a LOT of fun running through an alley with my escape car on the other end trying to not get shot, or even getting shot in the leg and thinking "Oh no there gonna catch me" when all of a sudden I reach the end of the alley. Adds a whole adrenaline "Oh no" feature. Great idea once again :)

lol:haha:
OR...///
If you get shot and your legs are blown off, you should be able to like crawl to a car and drive off usin like a cane or somethin for tha pedals

No, (reply to a few posts up), real time damage doesn't mean your car has to be totaled after one hit. It can look like **** and still run

That would be funny to see; missing three wheels and still be able to drive.
