Starting car???

Does any of you know what the cars are you can choose on the begin of the game?? And does any of you know how many cars will be availible in the beginin of the game??

Im pretty sure the starter cars are the Mazda Miata, Nissan 350Z, and the Saturn Sky.

I think like 90 cars will be available once you really get into the game, but some will be hard to get.

Well this is a race game remember. So I think you'll need a car in the begining to race with.

Here's the way I heard it:

You start off the game with no car, but a ton of cash. First thing you do is rent a car. This will get you to the realtors to buy a house. After which, you can ditch the rental car and spend whatever money you have left (after the house) to buy a car to race in. You can probably race in the rental car if you really wanted to.. but you're paying for the car by the half-hour, as I recall.. it'd be best to drop it as quickly as possible and buy something.

Assuming the cars cost about what they cost in real life, I think we'll have a bigger choice beyond the rentals, but probably be limited to cars that cost about what those cars cost.. $30-35,000 dollars. Which would net me an RX-8.

I think that list is only what the "rental company" at the airport offers. I'll probably pick the Sky, but I won't keep it for long. For me, it's going to be house, car, then race.

I hope the SRT-4 Neon or Caliber will be one of the starter cars. Or even a 1990 Dodge Daytona or 80s Dodge Charger Shelby 2.2liter.

Jeez. Someone else finish the list. There are a LOT of European Classics showrooms, the Lotus and TVR and Caterhams all come in one showroom, and there is one called US Independants. You can buy tuning packages (levels one to three) depending on your car, although the effect they have on performance is (to be honest) minimal.

Doesn't your starter car depend on what you get for a starter home though? I've imagine if you buy the smallest house available you could get a half decent starter car.

Some people on this forum need not to count out the 350z, there stonger than they look. They take out stock V8's within its price range all the time ;) Really the only thing that has it in a strait line is the GTO (05+).

So dont count it out, it will be good for your first few runs in the game. And if it upgrades well, it should last till the mid point. They can be modded to 550-600 BHP in real life, so I would assume something close to that in the game... or atleast i hope.

There's only 5 and the Audi isn't one of them. It's a rental car like the SLK55 AMG at the beginning.

There's the Alfa Romeo GT, Chev. SSR, Saturn SKY, Audi A3. The 5th I thought was the Opel Tigra TwinTop as reported by a German mag, but after LePhond posted the initial 90 car release, my best guess the Audi TT model.

It's not the fastest car but it looks pretty nice for a car with an average price and its's pretty fast for it's cost too so I would definitely buy it at the start (obviously a little later than the very beginning)
