I heard it today on the radio....1 man was killed and 21 other people got seriously harmed when Lisebergsbanan's train slipped from the chain and rolled back at station at high speed(crashing into another train)...Appearantly, it doesnt have an anti rollback thingy...At least that what the attraction chief said:eek:

Sounds serious from what you've said. I feel sorry for the families of the riders, especially the families of the rider that was killed.

Tragic as these things are...there are fortunately no signs that any injuries were very serious, and certainly no-one appears to have been killed!
Lisebergbanan is a great coaster, one of my favourite steelies. It appears that some sort of malfunction with the anti-rollbacks, together with a broken chain dog, allowed the climbing train to roll back down the lifthill and into the platform, colliding with an unloading train.
That ride puts through loads of passengers an hour and often has five trains running at once.
David.
