i made it in a 3d program and it works in there but not in the game

oh in a 3d program? idk if that would even work ( i think that would make it an animitronic, but hey what do i know ) . i think the way elitigna did it was a firework, Jcat said he used the ingame particles so that wouldnt help with this topic.and i think thats everyone that used particles in their scenary sets. hmm so confusing.

well in the importer it says Particles as one of the options. so i figured it could be done. hasnt worked so far.

To date, Elitigna is the only person to use custom particles.

is he/she still active on the forums?

^ a little bit.

btw i figured it out with the help from jcat ( for sort of explaining the particle effect thing ) and DRP's tutorial. btw you need it to be made in the fire works editor or else it wont work as a patricle effect ( particles need to be a frw file ). check DRP's tutorial if you want to continue with your effect pack.

sure.

CLICK HERE! section three is what you'll be looking at (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=510820)

but if you do continue could you not add snow? i spent ALOT of time trying to get the hang of the fireworks editor just for this one effect and i'd hate having all that hard work going to waste, and i wanted the effect to be like a big YAY for my scenary set.

cool thanks :)

well not really anymore the early versions had this strange glowing need sun glasses to look at thing. but now its just more of a normal white color ( its just that picture that makes it look a little glowey i think its all of the white directly behind it, also the lighting setting was up all the way.) and if you need help figuring out what that tutorial means i think i understand it pretty clearly, and would be glad to help.

EDIT: or maybe i dont i found an old ase file laying around so i tried it and got THIS! (http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/4479/shot0988af9.png) ugly error.
